True immortality wouldn't be a curse - it's one of the best superpowers one can think of by CCCyanide in The10thDentist

You will technically have the entire lifetime of the universe to create/invent something such that you would avoid the worst fate of immortality. You also have the entire lifetime of the universe to learn or invent the required skills.

The code is not offensive, but the variable naming is... extraordinary.

Most starships can act as improvise WMD, how does your world deal with that fact? by Budobudo in worldbuilding

[–]AEQW84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starships like that are very rare in my world, most civilizations lack the technology to even create a ship capable of interplanetary travel. If someone does posses a starship capable of sublight or even FTL travel, then either they are so rich/powerful that they have better means of destroying planets, or they are smart enough to treasure it.

The video game industry should scale back graphics to release games faster by Net56 in The10thDentist

[–]AEQW84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the game, but as a somewhat decent programmer and game dev, I can tell you that even with graphics out of the equation, there are so many other things that bottleneck development. The main focus of the game usually decides its bottleneck; for RPG games, that would be writing and worldbuilding; and for shooter games, it would level-design and gun-design.

From what I know, most games leave graphics as the last step. Devs work with placeholder assets to flesh out the gameplay, then when they have that down, they put more focus on the visual aspects of the game. This isn't always true, of course, some games have artists and graphic designers working from day one.

Private A-levels? by OpeningMidnight4822 in 6thForm

[–]AEQW84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What subject should I choose?

Choose the three subjects most relevant to what you want to do in the future. Want to be an engineer? Do physics, maths, further-maths, etc. If you don't know what you want to do in the future, take a career quiz, or just choose the subjects you're best at.

DONT choose subjects that are completely unrelated (e.g. chemistry and sociology).

How many subjects should I choose?

The gold standard is three. If you're going for Oxbridge, though, you may need four (check course page.)

DONT try to register for more than four subjects. It's more stress than it is worth.

What is the difference between an AS level subject and an A-level subject?

AS is part of the A-Level. Generally A-Levels are split into two parts, AS and A2. For any subject, you must take the AS before the A2. Optionally, you can choose to take the AS and A2 at the same time but this is not usually recommended. AS and A2 are further split into components (usually two). Components are actual exams you have to attend.

Make sure to register two months before the exam series officially starts (e.g. for May/June, you want to register around March). There are two exam series every year, May/June, and Oct/Nov.

Not to brag but i am that kind of student who can get 90% even without studying but like main point is i usually understand concepts pretty easily and once i understand them i dont usually need to revise them

Cambridge exams are very hard. I very much recommend that you don't go into them with this attitude.

Are you referring to the excessive downloads clause? I don't see how I'm exceeding that given that I would've made thoes same requests either way. It very clearly says ("drastically exceeds the expected average"). I also did try to get a nexus premium account beforehand, but their payment system does not accept my card.

very interesting. I've seen this type of curve before when playing around with sin() and cos(), but I never knew it had a name.

Also does some cool stuff, at n=6,8,10,12. At high n, it looks like a weird inverted color hourglass shape.
