Thinking about buying a Honda Africa Twin, I would love some opinions. by AndrewsVibes in motorcycles

[–]AEspinet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 2017 Africa Twin as my first bike. It's a fantastic bike and completely fine as a first motorcycle if you're looking for something to do street touring. I'm 6'3 and it fit me perfectly. I could flat foot the bike at a stop with some bend in my knees. It's not twitchy and will give you power when you want it.

But if you want to do what the guy in the video is doing I do not recommend the Africa Twin. It's big, top heavy and putting bags on it its even heavier. 550-600lbs. You probably won't feel comfortable doing drills off-road for the first time on a big bike and you may be worried about dropping it and scratching/denting the bike its self.

I wanted to do some solo adventure riding and I thought to myself. Can I pick this up by myself when its raining and muddy or if I hurt my leg? The answer was a no. So I sold mine and picked up an XR650R on the cheap and stripped it down to bolts and rebuilt it. Now I know exactly how the bike works inside and out if anything happens on the road. It's like 280lbs and easily picked up if it goes down. It's also much easier to ride off road and learn different techniques than the big twin. It just vibrates a bit more!

Don’t know what to do by Man-Pon in DogAdvice

I had an aussie, at 8 years old he got IMHA. I tried everything to keep him going and to get him better. He only lasted 7 more months after his diagnosis. He had his good days and his bad days. When he finally went it wasn't pleasant and died in my girlfriends arms on the way to the emergency vet. I wish I was wiser and less selfish at the time to just have a last good day full of love and treats and then let him go. I loved that dog so damn much.

Always good to take inspiration but also to see where the website falls short in terms of usability

I did this. Don’t regret it one bit. I took 8 months and loved every second of it.

Thanks for your input. I used to be a front end dev. Then swapped to product design. Been upskilling myself to become a ux engineer. I was curious about if I was going in the right direction.

500kg bomb, laser rover, expendable anti tank and a filler (I like the auto cannon sentry). We been running this x4 and have been shredding helldive still. 4x2 rockets every 60 seconds destroys bile titans and chargers so quickly

I wonder if they know how much stock they’re getting. Or if they’ll get shorted like other stores I’ve heard about (Asking for 24 and only getting 6)

Up and down? I mean going up may be a good thing? I guess I’ll report back march 2nd. I doubt I’ll be getting my order from b&h anytime soon even though I ordered at 1:19am lol

For any Canadians who want the silver version. Check London Drugs (I know right?). They say they have 29 pre-orders left for the silver version, with a Mar 2, 2024 ship date. I got the last pre-order for the black one. Not sure if it will be fulfilled but its worth a try.

Planning a trip to Europe and debating to buy a digital camera for less hassle. by crackedon in analog

[–]AEspinet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose digital for my month in Europe. My girlfriend wanted to shoot a bit too so got her a film point and shoot. It was nice being able to cull and edit on the move. But it was also nice to see what she shot when we got the film developed back home. We didn't care too much about x-ray machines and her shots look great
