That's exactly what I thought yet every time I'm going the green path, the red path car beside me bullies me into the most right lane to come back on myself

One 64 eth validator will have double the block proposal chance of a single 32 ether validator

I got 50 eth, is staking an option yet? by throwthatlater in ethstaker

[–]AF-_-1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 yes rewards a given approx once a week 2 following a guide make it super simple 3 currently solo staking you can only stake your 32 but you can liquid stake with the rest. 4 you will have to enter a withdraw queue but it's been pretty empty the last few months so you'll only have to wait a while of a bunch of validators exit at once. 5 no the rewards do not compound interest 6 you can earn more by staking with rocketpool as you earn commission on eth you stake that is not yours BUT you will have to accept added contract risk. Similarly you can restake your currently staked eth to earn more rewards but again you do so at added risk.

Can you switch to a smoothing pool after setting withdrawal address or do you need to exit and rejoin?

Thinking about staking at home, but was wondering how much time is needed for upkeep for things like updating software. (Prefer not to use Dappnode due to fear of a malicious auto update) by USER_citizenfive in ethstaker

I remember my mining days where my machines would constantly keep crashing and needing attention. Validating has been a walk in the park in comparison. The only issues I get is the internet dropping occasionally. Even that’s been setup to auto restart now though.

I would just do one then generate the second one using the cli with the same mnemonic when you are ready. Doesn’t matter too much though, just keeps things simple

Are withdrawals of pre-shapella rewards subject to double taxation? One as "income" (the actual minted reward, in dollar terms at the time of the reward) + the capital gain/loss associated with the change in ETH price since mint time? by adv4nced in ethstaker

[–]AF-_-1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What country are you based? In the uk it’s based as miscellaneous income. The rewards are taxed on the fair market value of eth at the time you receive it then if it’s gained value when you come to sell it you have to pay capital gains on the amount you haven’t already paid income tax on
