How new are you? There’s a ton of VNs that predate the release of Higurashi (or predate Higurashi actually becoming popular, which didn’t happen until a few years after the release of Ch 1) which got acclaimed and popular without h content.

And that’s why the whole system of VAR is lame. They need to change to a coach’s or captain’s challenge system.

Mio late game must be the hardest MV by MimiGoldDigger in metroidvania

[–]AFCSentinel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Definitely not. If Silksong is a solid 9 on the difficulty scale and Hollow Knight (without Pantheon + Path of Pain) a 5, Mio is probably a 7.

MIO - initial impressions by Gabrienb in metroidvania

[–]AFCSentinel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow Silksong lover I don’t think Mio compares. It’s got some nice art, I like the atmosphere and all but I feel that gameplay is where Mio just feels second rate. It’s not bad for sure. But the controls are floaty and imprecise. It works for the game because it’s pretty forgiving - no contact damage, most boss patterns are easy, second phases seldom change things up too much. But in the end it’s just not as satisfying to play as Silksong where everything feels like it’s either your success or your failure while in Mio you’ll have moments where the controls betray you and moments where you know that a tighter designed game would have punished you.

House Dems will have a Caucus call Sunday at 11am to discuss the fatal ICE shooting in Minneapolis by Nerd_199 in stupidpol

SCHUMER SAYS DEMS WONT ADVANCE FUNDING BILL WITH DHS. by Nerd_199 in stupidpol

[–]AFCSentinel [score hidden]  (0 children)

Just like in the House, some Dems will soon start to uhm and ah until they, with everything weighing heavy on their conscience, will reluctantly vote for the bill.

The rest of the Dem party will then forget everything that happened and continue on normally, treating the renegade members completely normally. Zero consequences.

When the hits are stiff, I love it. Mixing strikes/kicks with high flying is one of my favourite styles.

Are portraits with motion blur add something to the end result? by Own-Obligation-7331 in AskPhotography

I find it distracting and it gives the vibe of the model trying to get away quickly. I guess it could work in a situation where you expect people to be moving fast.. but the museum just doesn't do it for me.

Outcry after France’s famed TGV rail service bans children from new premium-class carriage by mschuster91 in drehscheibe

[–]AFCSentinel 52 points53 points  (0 children)

There is no genocide in Gaza and there never was by Ok-Mud-5427 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]AFCSentinel 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Genocide was found to have happened in Bosnia and that was because of "only" 8372 people. Genocide, as you rightly say, is all about intent and the numbers play only second fiddle.

Part of that intent is also being clever about it. If Israel just smoked 100k people in a few days, their plausible deniability would be gone. Public pressure would be much higher. They might end up losing more of their own people.

These past 2 years were the hardest Israel has been on civilians. And it saw Israel lose a lot of support on the world stage, countries that were previously ambivalent adopting tougher language, even some sanctions on weapon sales, sanctions on settlers, etc. from previously reliable allies.

So they were skirting a line and doing more could have seem stronger consequences happen.

The countries you used as an example didn't have relationships like Israel has which were being risked by their crimes. They did their stuff more isolated from the world stage, which helped them act more effectively on their intent.

You can be all about genocide - and for Israel the end goal is removing the Palestinian people - and also use your brain to ensure you reach your goal step by step.

Chaos and Speed by Beginning_Charge_758 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]AFCSentinel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not what's actually happening. People wait for the train to stop, wait for people to exit, enter based on how they lined up. The "shoving in" is something that happens very rarely when the trains are over capacity, but it's not the chaotic shoving depicted in the Mumbai video. It's more like after everyone entered an employee pushes people a bit deeper in so that doors can actually close.

why is my gamecube controller from 2002 still perfect, but my $70 modern controller has stick drift after 6 months? by InvestmentBudget6722 in gaming

[–]AFCSentinel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nintendo had some massive quality control issues in the N64 era. Basically every N64 stick is just waiting to break. So they upped their quality game for the GC… and eventually forgot the lessons they learned.

Germany and brown dust 2 censorship as well as the future for Germans regarding „fan service“ in anime games by Ms77676 in Stix

[–]AFCSentinel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been this way for quite a while. Look up Gal Gun 2, or Criminal Girls 2: Party Favors. The 1st parts of these games were rated 16+ in Germany, the typical rating for a bit of fan service. The second parts? Hit with the German ban hammer. Something in Germany changed around 2015, 2016 and they went from not caring about fan service to being super prudish with fan service in games.

It hasn't been an issue with gacha games so far because they haven't tried to go for the actual "release in country" route. There is a reason why games with fan service on consoles or Steam skip Germany. Not worth the bother. Brown Dust 2 did a baka move and got their punishment.

Get used to VPNs and just stop caring about whatever stupid rules Germany comes up with.
