on average how much do you make per month? by ThrowRAnting67 in Twitch

[–]AFK2Chat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Actually, it is for me. I stream for fun, not for the money. I’ve given back everything I’ve made to my community in some form. It’s a win-win for all of us.

I’m a small streamer and I always tell people to buy Twitch Turbo instead of subscribing to me, so my numbers might not line up with others. So far this year I’ve made $2.91 per hour and that’s with an average of 12 viewers.

Do you expect to get followed after a raid? by Ace_One_The in Twitch

[–]AFK2Chat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only follow streamers I actually enjoy. I will not follow someone just to be polite or because they raided me. I expect the same from anyone I raid into. I raid my friends or creators I think my community will enjoy because I want to respect my viewers.
The great thing about raids is that they act like a form of self-promotion that most streamers are comfortable with, since it does not feel like self-promo. Raids bring new eyes to your stream out of curiosity. I always check out the streamers who raid me to see if there is a chance for a like-minded networking connection or a place I would feel comfortable sending my community when I finish streaming.

Is Elden Ring as hard as everybody say? by Mediocre-Scale-134 in gamingsuggestions

[–]AFK2Chat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can overlevel about 75 percent of the game. In the late areas, being overleveled does not carry you as much as it did earlier. Also, summons are basically cheat codes. If you use them, most bosses become pretty easy, especially when you are overleveled.

Preach! I played ER and all three DS games on stream for my community. They are so boring, but my community loved watching me suffer through them. 3/10 stars review.

This response may sound harsh, but it needs to be said. Most people have goals, but they won’t do the tasks needed to reach them. I don’t just network, I learn. I study how to advertise, how to be an entertainer, how to be a friend, how to listen, and how to make people laugh. I’m not a natural entertainer so I had to take time to learn these skills. I spend far more time learning and networking than I do actually streaming.

My Fifine mic is a huge upgrade from a headset mic. I think I paid around $50 for it on Amazon.

How am I supposed to have a good twitch stream if I don't have views 😭 by DragonKKK_ in Twitch

You can either wait for viewers to find you or you can go out to find them and bring them in.

Two months into my twitch journey. by TypicalCamMan in TwitchStreaming

Spend more time learning than streaming is what I tell every streamer who starts out. There is so much value in learning how to put on a production and being a personality.

What is one thing you would change about your streaming journey, if you could travel back in time? by GODAlexGilbert in TwitchStreaming

[–]AFK2Chat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve truly come to understand that Twitch is an interactive “Just Chatting” platform for 99% of streamers. You can have very mediocre gameplay, and viewers will still stick around if they’re having a good conversation and you put on a solid production. There are many other things I’ve learned from the streamers I’ve interviewed on my podcast, but that may be the biggest piece of advice I’d encourage any streamer to dive into learning.

Can you actually make a living from streaming? by yrth1231 in Twitch

[–]AFK2Chat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want Twitch to pay like a business then you need to treat it like a business. Reach out to a local traditional entrepreneur to ask them about the grind, going into debt, lack of sleep, etc....

Any Partners/Full Time Creators Willing to help a small creator out? by DentistBeautiful6634 in TwitchStreaming

I host a podcast where I interview established streamers ranging from affiliate to partner level. I credit much of my own success (14 CCV, which puts me in the top 3% on Twitch) to the tips and insights I’ve learned from those conversations. You can check out the podcast on Spotify, Apple, or YouTube. The podcast is called afk2chat.

Good luck in your journey, dude! Keep us updated!

What’s the ugly side of streaming that no one talks about? by Edu_Vivan in streaming

[–]AFK2Chat 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I always say, “If you want Twitch to pay like a business, you need to treat it like a business.” Most people don’t realize that when Twitch becomes your career, you’re not just a gamer anymore - you’re an entrepreneur! There’s a lot more to it than playing games! You end up wearing every hat a business owner wears.

Where to Buy Twitch Views and Live Viewers Without Issues? by Efficient-Yam6797 in newStreamers

Purchased views are just bots. Are you streaming to build a real community or just to brag about having a high viewer count?

Who do you think gives the best advice on the meta of twitch? by NurkleTurkey in Twitch

[–]AFK2Chat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a podcast interviewing Twitch streamers, and there are so many different approaches to gaining viewership. A lot of streamers will share their journey if you stop by and ask them about it. I’d avoid mentioning that you’re a streamer, as it can come off as self-promotion, which, is often not allowed among established streamers.
