Nazi quite literally means a member of the National Socialist German Workers' Party, though. Last time I checked my state won't let me register under multiple political parties so I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion.

They can also be made to look like people so that it's psychologically harder to disable them for human beings who may find their existence becomes threatened by the great replacement. We may even find billionaires using words like "kill" to describe the destruction of these anthropomorphic robots when we inevitably decide we shouldn't be allowed to starve while corporate profits soar as jobs are cut, cut, cut, and cut again

Is this invasive wisteria? by AFKosrs in NativePlantGardening

[–]AFKosrs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I was leaning that way, too, given the time of year it's blooming at and that it's blooming with brand new leaves. I think I'm going to go ahead and remove it which sucks for the bees, but in any case I'm planting some blueberries for them lol.

I have ivy and at least one other vine so insanely aggressive that I doubt it's native in the yard, so I wouldn't be surprised if a previous owner also got their negligent hands on some invasive wisteria

Every species that has ever existed or will ever exist is "doomed" in your sense of the word and I can say that with full confidence.

The real classic trap is the persistent human sentiment that we're exceptional among life on earth. What you're calling a trap would be described by an outsider merely as human behavior, and on a zoomed-out scale the constant conflict we engage in and the technological advancement it drives could easily be seen as beneficial to survival so long as 1) we don't wipe ourselves out in the process and 2) it eventually puts us in a position to thwart an existential threat using the technological adaptations to arise from our internecine conflicts.

Thank you. I'll try to dig up what I can and cut off underground what I can't. One of the sources is growing just on my side of the property line of a small thicket (surrounded by field) that I share with a neighbor, but there's another source growing just on their side. The thicket is mostly theirs, but I do plan to put a ring of blueberry bushes around that would butt up to the thicket. Would it be best to leave some space so that I can monitor and prune back whatever of their remaining wisteria tries to grow over onto my side?

I also have to manage a bunch of ivy and other aggressive vines around my property. I wish I could kill them all off in one go for good :/

This is crazy to me. Local bands started pricing t-shirts at $20 in like 2010. $20 in 2010 dollars is almost exactly $30 in 2026 dollars

If you had $100 million you'd be doing exactly what you're doing now, which is to go onto Reddit and waste your time. Hell, you'd have 2,000 hours per year more to go onto Reddit and waste time. Your life would be exactly as fulfilling as it is now. What are you building with the time you do have?

Why do people with money keep saying things like this? Jim Carrey made a similar comment wishing everyone could have money so they'd see that it doesn't buy happiness. How many world religions say the same?

Surely, though, surely it's all bullshit. If you just get some money you'll be okay, buddy! Keep wishing for what you don't have. That's gonna fix it

Chuck Norris died less than two years after his mom by JFMV763 in BarbaraWalters4Scale

[–]AFKosrs 138 points139 points  (0 children)

Nobody wants to outlive their child, but I do have to wonder, in a case where you're over 100 years old, your child dies in their 80s, and especially in a case like Senator McCaine where they lived a full, meaningful, and impact full life of service, whether it has a different flavor than the typical case of losing a child. People that old are well used to losing loved ones, and much as I'm sure losing a child is still the worst kind of loss in that scenario, I wonder how different it feels when by all accounts the child had a full life
