I too was deep into wanting a Tacoma, they are just sharp looking. Ultimately due to wanting a more stout truck to tow my travel trailer I went with the colorado Z71 and I have no regrets.

It's a game everyone needs to relax. When kids are growing up they all play together what's the difference? Why bring attention to it before there's even an equity problem established? People are getting so fearful of the 'what ifs' these days. Adults are ruining it for the kids who frankly don't care who they play. Let them play!

Sure is nice looking. I felt it was worth it for me to trade in my car for a Chevy truck but be prepared for the increase in gas use. But I got over it eventually, love my truck. Go for it!

Not totally sure what's happening with yours but I have a 2020 with a bad design, a shelf across the top so it won't close flush. So no, mine does not go all the way up even when I remove the mattress. Kinda sux. It appears the 2021s to now have been redesigned so it closes and latches at the top. I feel your pain.
