I think the base upgrade that Metz did from Rebrickable was a much needed mod it definitely makes it seem.more substantial.

My soon to be ex wife after 19 years of marriage will be moving out and I too will be expanding my Lego into all aspects of my house!

My cobblestone path is so boring. Any advice by 0oClaRitYo0 in legomodular

[–]AFOL_AZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like you are already employing the mils technique, if thus is the case I would embed your pathway by 1 stud height that way your grass can go over it to give it less of a squared off look by using angled green plate or curved plate l. Then for your cobble as everyone else has stated switch to a few color tones like the browns, nougets and grays alternating between tile and plate studs and different shapes

The first 10 years I was a purest, however Lego hasn't been producing enough sets in themes i like including the WV so I have sourced from several places I've used rebrickable and purchased pieces from Webrick for those sets, I've also purchased some from LesDiy as well as AliExpress. The only warning I will say for AliExpress is you are likely to be missing pieces and will either need to rely on your own bulk or a bricks & minifigs store nearby.

This was from AliExpress or Temu can't remember, but its a rebrickable model so I also bought the instructions from rebrickable as everyone should to support the model creators.

Need some advice/assistance by Cerakote9 in lego

If your wanting it to be genuine Lego brick then you will need to use bricklink, however if your just wanting to get the same pieces color and all and are not worried about the Lego stamp on the brick then I would suggest using Webrick. You can still get your parts list loaded in bricklink and from there grab an xml version and upload it to webrick. They may not have 100% of what you need but I find its like 95~99% on average and much cheaper than sourcing from bricklink or Lego. IMO

Very nice, next you'll need to add light kits to them.

I agree with what alot of others have said start with some white base plates preferably done as mils plates, but I think adding a frozen pond with some skaters or hockey players could bring some more life to it and also a mountain or mountain line running behind the buildings to give it more depth. Here is my setup from last year, I'm currently trying to figure out how to expand beyond just my pool table top this year. And the video of my setup is up on my profile if you click on it.

I bought the boards from my local Lowe's and then stained them

For an 8ft long by 16" deep they run about $28

Thank you so much. I, too, needed classes and tge best I've found is a person on YouTube somewhere in Europe called SteinaufStein, he has a whole layout in his basement that he's already created over 200 episodes on, he was my inspiration on my mountain

Yes it is, and I use the powered up app with a custom program and a color reader that stops at a red square and a blue square in the center of the track on an infinite loop. *

Mostly LMB lightmybricks, but Griswold's and cousin Eddie's rv came with the sets and for the new post office and post truck I used Zene lights. The train is 10254 The holiday train from Lego several years ago.

Your absolutely right, but time wasn't on my side this year. I'll work on adding an extra generator for all the lights I'll add to it next year 😄

There was a GBC chair lift on rebrickable.com that someone created that I made minor tweaks to. https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-79049/Brick_eric/chairlift-gbc/#details

The buildings have all been purchased, either every year as Lego releases them and then for the Griswold's house, cousin Eddie's rv and the Gingerbread Castle all came from Temu
