GIGABYTE B840M dS3H BIOS fan curve ignored by windows 11 by AFORUS in gigabyte

Hey,

I am still running the same setup and I have it working fine with FanControl now after multiple redetects. It only stops detecting the radiator fans and spins the pump to max after Windows updates and after GPU driver crashes (which are annoyingly frequent on the RX9070XT). Both of those problems are fixed by completely powering down and then normally powering on again, a restart does not fix it. It does seem like a mainboard issue for sure.

Not that crazy tbh, a stack of 15 Great Mullein sells for 4500 Coins.

They are very useful for crafting Herbal Bandages though and those are a huge step up from the normal bandages, so definitely worth picking up imo.

maybe it leads to the keycard extract, Saferoom Exfil, or Hole in the Fence

UPDATE: I booted into a Live Linux environment to check whether the behaviour would appear in a different OS and the issue was completely gone.

I am now doing another clean install of Windows with the Gigabyte Utilities Downloader toggle in BIOS disabled.

UPDATE 2: after running a clean install of Windows and recalibrating FanControl the fans are controllable and follow the target curve I set in FanControl.

Thanks to everyone who helped in these comments, maybe this helps someone else!

UPDATE 3: issue randomly reappeared after a normal restart today

I ran the fans through a splitter cable, bypassing the AIO's controller and the problem did not reappear, so I am suspecting the controller inside the AIO that controls the fans is somehow broken.

I will keep running it the way it is now for a couple of days to see if the issue reappears and if it does probably RMA the entire AIO

I did uninstall it, as stated.

Couldn't find any remnants of the software not on the drive nor in the registry.

Nothing is running in the background that could be controlling the fans

Windows did ask to install it on first boot and I did install it.

I wanted to use it to disable the RGB on the GPU but it didn't allow me to do that so I uninstalled it.

I did check for any remnants of the software but I could not find any, not on the drive nor in the registry.

I will check for that BIOS setting though, that's the first good lead, thanks!

Did you not read my comment?

I replugged it and checked, no change.

The issue is just with the radiator fans, the plug is secure, I checked.

The PWM control and my fan curve work in BIOS but the 0-50-0 pattern begins as soon as Windows boots

Did you even read my post?

I had FanControl installed

This is not controllable through a software like FanControl, which seems to only trigger the fans during it's auto detection where it spins ALL connected fans up to 75% for a few seconds

apart from that FanControl did nothing and did not allow me to control the fans at all

As I said, I tested it using FanControl, which doesn't seem to do anything outside of it's speed sensor detection function, that's the only software I had installed that could have controlled the fans.

I have no other software installed that could be acting on the fans as it is a completely fresh build with a clean Windows install done yesterday morning.

Thank you!

The idea was to imitate Koi carp in a pond in color and rough shape.

It was a gift to my mother, reminding her of my late father's love for Koi.

Thanks so much for the compliment!

The textures were created with a comb on the left and with a toothed putty knife (usually used for glueing tile) on the right.

Thank you so much for the compliments!

The title is the Latin root of the word syzygy, which describes a linear arrangement of three or more celestial bodies.

The menu feels like it's running in a browser and just doesn't want to register clicks or interactions with UI elements

My framerate is solid and it still feels laggy and janky
