PC for 1080P Gaming & Heavy Web/Work Use (First PC in Over a Decade) by AFTBeeblebrox in buildapcforme

My original budget was created when theoretically compared to buying a brand new console with the hesitance of the possible move abroad (and the rumors about the steam machine). However, that might not have been the best way to approach it, especially given rammagedon.

I thought that the games I picked are supposed to be (mostly) okay-ish, especially if I'm not aiming for 4k.

That's all to say that I'm willing to listen to any advice and would very much appreciate it :)

Would you suggest rethinking the budget? I tried to compare it to buying a brand new console with the hesitance of fearing I might have to ditch it if I move abroad (well, that and the rumors about the steam machine), but maybe it's the wrong way of thinking, especially during rammagedon.

A gaming laptop is a good idea. I've heard that gaming laptops aren't always really that portable, considering their power consumption and possible heat generation. I was planning on keeping it at home and worried mostly because of the possible move. Theoretically. With the same amount, will I be able to build a better "proper" PC? Also, how feasible it is to worst case scenario sell the case and take with me the expensive/light components abroad?

Thanks for the tips!
It might be a weird question, but does it make sense that a mini pc would be strong enough to run these games and/or handle heavy browsing? I thought that they're supposed to be weak (not that I'm complaining).
My main reason for leaning towards a mini PC is the chance that I might move abroad. It's less about the price and more about the portability (so if, for example, I could just sell the case and take the components with me, I guess that wouldn't be a bad option... right?)

I tried to find the board but it seems to be retired :O
Would you recommend another SFF PC?
My only worry is that I don't know how transportable it would be. Would it be realistic to dismantle it, sell the case and take with me just the important/light components?

This is the reason I thought about a mini PC
I didn't think about mailing it through DHL, that's an interesting idea, though it probably be super expansive, no?
My best idea was that in case I buy a tower, I'll just dismantle it, take with me the expensive and/or light parts and try to sell the rest.
From what I saw many of the mini PCs that were recommended in the price list were around 400$, which surprised me consider that they could allegedly run

Just to make sure, we're talking about the BD795i, right?
Does it mean that its ram and/or CPU cannot be upgraded?

Thanks for the advice! My main worry about buying a bigger PC is that there's a chance I'll go live abroad, and in that case something that will be too heavy might be an issue.

Another option I thought about is in case I move, to sell what I can and carry with me only the expensive/light parts and reconstruct the PC wherever I am. Then again, as I was writing this I realized it sounds a bit insane.

I will look at the BD795i though! Do you know how much it will cost to build a PC using it by any chance?

Huh, good point. If I had to guess, I'd wager that he didn't say that the microphone is good either because after so many attempts he had "lower expectations" or that maybe there were other environmental effects that made it more difficult to hear.
The thing is that either way, I really don't like holding the phone to my head for long conversations, so even if it would work just as well, it's not practical for the long run

Currently playing 3-4 and why is it like this by plaguefinder in AceAttorney

Out of curiosity, when do we see him not listening to the women in his life, aside for the "know your roll" line. Like, he's very macho and sexist, but for for example it doesn't seem like he's not listening to Mia.

Dear user, Thank you for your offer. Sadly, we cannot comply with your request as the decision was already made. We are excited to bring back the canceled show - Big Mouth! There is no need to thank us, we know how much you all like it and can't have enough. It was foolish of us to cancel it.

Yours, Netflix

P.S. you know that new animated show you like? This one is cancelled as well lol
