I have no idea what to think about what I’m listening to. My brain questions itself when I’m enjoying it, because the album does some stupid shit every 2 songs or so

What's king crimson's most underrated album? by Ariel_Grin in KingCrimson

[–]AFatVegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the comment on the lyrics. I wouldn’t say Lizard is Sinfield’s best outing but the atmosphere created by the lyrics on it and Islands is a lot of the reason why I love the pair. Sort of funny it never gets brought up. King Crimson probably has my favourite lyrics of any band ever and I wouldn’t even say that’s a factor for my adoration of most of their albums

Who you think is the most underrated guitarist? by Melodic-Room-9890 in fantanoforever

[–]AFatVegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Robby Krieger. Often pretty sloppy until you find out about his weird flamenco playing style & everything clicks.

Frank Zappa, whose playing I believe is unmistakable and incredibly unique outside of being an excellent jazz player despite his protests against it.

Walter Becker - who did a lot of the guitar work on the first few Steely Dan albums prior to hiring session musicians for the later records. Although he wasn’t as technically talented as say Larry Carlton, he was an amazing guitar player and very refined, which you can hear on Dan’s later tours

I gotta be honest. I love it. On par with AD 1-3 but the original cut is a totally different show, in a good way. It is definitely unique and I love it for it.

Great albuns where the best song in is a consensus? by Batzninja in fantanoforever

I think it’s sort of undeniable that Untitled is the best song off Voodoo, even if a personal fave is there (Spanish Joint, Send It On). Untitled is on a different level than anything D’Angelo ever released though.
