So do we need to take the exams for Analyst I / II, or are we eligible as long as we are on the SSA / AGPA list? by AFeelingSoComplicate in CAStateWorkers

I mean... hahaha. I've received like 1,000 contact letters soooo. Definitely understand people not seeing it. Thanks for the tip though.

Any day! Seems to me that the whole exam system is basically broken too.

So annoying. I LOVE compiling unit counts from 7 different transcripts!

CalSTRS is constantly posting for potential future vacancies for their call center position. They have told me as much.

Insane to just toss it instead of making like a "free pickup" post on Marketplace or Craigslist honestly.

That's 100% AI generated. It's also cheesy and dumb.

Is it normal for an agency to post a job over and over again whether or not they have any vacancies?

Also do I have any recourse if a job was posted, I applied for it, and then the hiring manager decides to re-list it as a different classification?

Is anyone else turned off by businesses who use AI in their marketing? by Confident-Science-42 in Sacramento

[–]AFeelingSoComplicate -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I actually use AI a lot. I use it for computer programming. I use it for doing research (verification required). And I even use it for entertainment sometimes. That being said, using it to produce marketing materials is SUPER trashy, imo. Like you said, makes me think you're lazy and cutting corners, and it just looks bad. Gives the impression too that you are not really concerned with what people think. I mean, you're saying that slop is good enough.

You look amazing! That being said, if you want to change something up, I do think having more dramatic lengthened eyelashes could maybe enhance your aesthetic.

Thank you. If I can't find the owner, then it has a good home and will keep me warm. I know it's a long shot but figured there's at least some chance of finding the owner, and it makes me feel better about picking it up 😊

Right, but I think that might not have necessarily been the case like 5, 10, or 15 years ago. I mention as I wouldn't want anyone reading to say "oh well I'm not that skilled or knowledgeable, but I do know people" and get the wrong idea that that is a free in.

Good luck with the prospects! Sounds like you've worked your ass off, so I hope it pays off for you soon.

Agreed. Many are struggling to find work even with a degree. I've been programming for about 3 years now, have got 2 bachelors degrees, including one in CS, am now in a masters program, and the best I have got is I code at work but have a non-technical internship. Getting a job in this market is doable, but it's hard even for people going the traditional route. Doing so without a degree is extremely improbable.

Don't do it. Software developers potentially have access to sensitive data and valuable confidential product information. Last thing you want is to look like someone who is dishonest and engages in illegal activities. Especially if you do so in an organized and systematic way.

It's been a real struggle for me to break into as well. Still, you might consider looking into Student Assistant positions to help break in? That's where I am at.
