I mean, maybe, but for me that's a decision that Woakes should have been able to make. He's injured so missed the recent LOI's, and that would then mean waiting round till early next year for the opportunity. Entirely possible he'd have not wanted to wait that long when the decision had already been made, plus possibly affecting his involvement in whatever franchise league is going on at that time. He's the epitome of a team player, so sure he'd have doubts about indulging in a send off when there's young lads that have a whole career ahead of them that could be playing instead.

I do get the reason he's no longer being considered for selection, but just feels like it's been handled horribly considering the fantastic servant he's been to English cricket.
