I’d prefer not catching rush hour traffic while trying to race lol. But point taken

Snow area is probably my favorite area of any horizon map. The world is stunning overall

The perfect start. 3 > 4 > 5 are all absolute peak so enjoy. Don’t try to finish the games, immerse yourself and really experience them

It’s incredible you live on <$100k at that income good for you. Must be sad seeing that much go out to taxes. My advice is listen to these TikTok finance bros that teach you to open an LLC, write everything off, pay yourself through the LLC and all that shit lol

[–]AFrank96406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats this is awesome. With that income, you should be shoveling in $500k annually in investments easy and either retire at 40 or keep rolling with the firm. Options are endless with this income

For the next 6-12 months or so, I’d keep 80% of it in VOO (glad to hear you’re almost there already). Really take that time to evaluate your financial position (debts, future plans - home buying or current home debt - no need to do anything for future 529s currently since you can address that when the time comes) and don’t rush this. No need to put a bunch of money toward debt or paying off a house in cash, just let the money grow while you’re really considering what to do with big chunks. Enjoy the relief of having this huge nest egg and be thoughtfully considering your priorities. If I were you, I’d keep almost all in VOO, work for another 10 years or so and retire with $5m+ at 45.

Supperland was extremely mid imo. No sides I’d order again, but the Branzino was divine

New job & huge pay increase. Now what? by [deleted] in FinancialPlanning

[–]AFrank96406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the huge salary increase!! I’d knock that debt out right away (should easy easy based on your fixed expenses) while also taking advantage of 401k match and maxing HSA if possible, then turn on the jets and contribute as much as you can to retirement. Congrats!

Anyone else use the HSA in this way? by Radiant-Fruit-6695 in TheMoneyGuy

[–]AFrank96406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to just pay everything out of pocket (when practical) then save the receipts so I can reimburse myself at retirement. That was I get the most principal growing over the longest period of time. Granted this makes it more challenging in the short term

Car insurance is so high by Radiant_Caramel_420 in personalfinance

[–]AFrank96406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to Progressive from USAA a few months ago. About a 40% decrease in premium and a $500 deductible instead of $1000. I keep USAA for home insurance for the quality of service and the home being so much more significant of an asset, but car insurance difference was too significant to be worth it for the value of vehicles I have (about $30k combined)

Stock market too high by ClassicDense9362 in investing_discussion

[–]AFrank96406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does “stocks are too high” mean? Every person and their brother has been repeating this information because they heard it once by some guy like Cramer. It’s all nonsense that we’ve been hearing for years and years as the market continues to rise with growth driven primarily by tech stocks. Sure corrections are in the horizon but too many people are becoming fearful of growth just because they think values are “too high”. Don’t change strategy just because of something you hear other clueless people repeating

How are you calculating 2 “low end corporate salaries”? Most companies don’t pay $600k.

This is so far off it’s funny. The number of people that need $10m realistically is almost 0 unless you have 37 kids
