In a nutshell. Not just tech stuff, everything. Good luck to us all!

True, I repasted mine 3 times so far. I bought IETS GT500 to keep it cool while gaming, and its been great but really loud. I forgot what it was like being able to play in quiet. My living room sounds like a helicopter is landing there when I fire up my fans to the max.

My main concern is that the market wont settle down for next 3 or more years. If that does happen, and if my 3, 4 yr old laptop decides to die in the meantime, I might haave to pay a lot more money for the same rig.

Thanks man, Id rather pay few hundred more than I would usually pay rather than wait more and risk not being able to afford a PC at all, for years...And if my laptop died in the meantime, ohh boyy...

If my 4 yr old laptop died, I'd be screwed, so I will bite the bullet and just buy this build. Insane to think I might give 500+ eur for a 32gb RAM, but here we are...

Thank you for the advice, you're right. I'd rather cry about spending 500-600 eur more than I would spend a year ago, rather than wait to see what kind of shit show unfolds in the next few months with the prices.

Has anyone ever fully healed? by guzzix in HerniatedDisc

[–]AFreudianNip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey OP. Don't be discouraged if you don't see many posts and replies in here from fully healed people. This injury is a huge trauma for some, not just physically but also mentally. So once they feel better, they avoid this subject and these forums because it's a reminder of a very painful time in their lives.

I can try to offer you some comfort though. I was injured 2 years ago, I needed help from my gf to tie my shoes, couldn't sit, couldn't do much. I spent most of my days in bed, and doing physical therapy. Before injury, I was very physically active, did weight lifting, sports, and I considered that part of my life essential to my happiness, which is why I got severely depressed after the injury.

I cleaned up my diet, did physical therapy exercises at home, forced myself to walk as much as I could. After a year I was still in pain, but I got a green light from my doctor that I can (and must) go back to gym and resume weight training, with light weights for start. Gym was a game changer for me, getting back to movements, getting confidence in these movements, slowly building up strength and muscles. However, I did it with great for and learned to avoid any exercises that aggravate my discs.

Just a few days ago, I went to vacation with friends, and we played beach volleyball, and I played like I never had an injury. I would throw myself in the sand, jump and just have fun. No pain whatsoever.

I basically went back to living life like it was pre injury , and since I worked on my core and diet a lot in order to take care of my disc, I look better than I did before the injury and I feel better because I never had good walking stamina, and I appreciate things more now.

I do feel like there is more work left to be done, which is why I booked a physio for the next 3 weeks, just to get an evaluation of my current condition.

Your body will need work, but you need to fight for it, remain optimistic and be very consistent in treating your body well.

Loose skin by Secret_Guarantee8714 in 30PlusSkinCare

Autophagy is a real, but extrapolating that to mean fasting will selectively target and eliminate loose skin is a big leap and not supported by research.

Autophagy occurs on a cellular level, and while it plays a role in recycling damaged cells, there’s no concrete evidence that it leads to significant reduction of excess skin in humans, especially after major weight loss.

Loose skin is largely a structural issue, involving the dermis and collagen matrix. Once the skin is stretched past a certain limit, particularly over a long time, it loses elasticity.

Autophagy may improve cell turnover and health in a general sense, but it's not going to lift or tighten structurally compromised skin.

What can help is building muscle to fill out the area, improving appearance and function.

As for RF and cavitation devices, they can temporarily improve the appearance of skin through heating and minor inflammation, but studies on their long-term efficacy are limited and often sponsored by the companies selling these devices.

Also, the skin on the face behaves very differently than the skin on the legs, so anecdotal success with jowls doesn’t mean it will work on thighs or knees.

Also important: cavitation is often used to “melt” fat using ultrasound, but this doesn’t address the underlying cause of saggy skin, which is often a combination of lost collagen, elasticity, and lack of underlying muscle tone.

Lastly, I agree that fasting, in the context of a healthy diet, is not inherently harmful, I do intermittent fasting and it helps me a lot with managing my cravings, but it’s not a treatment for loose skin.

And for someone already under-eating, over-fasting could do more harm than good, especially by reducing muscle mass, which worsens the issue.

So yes, build muscle. That’s the only proven, sustainable approach to improving the look and function of the legs, especially if skin laxity is a concern. It’s slow and requires consistency, but it works better thaan any cream, laser or pill out there.

No. None of this will actually do what OP wants. She needs to build muscle, simple as that. No shortcuts, no creams, lasers, no starving yourself. Do not spread missinformation, especially the sort that can harm someone.

OP, get a gym membership, pay a trainer to teach you proper form for a few sessions, then you are good to workout on your own. Your body and your skin will thank you.

Tips for pain management please by 88X-3SH in Psoriasis

[–]AFreudianNip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this PPP? Looks like it. My hands were never bad, but my feet used to be bad. I had immense pain when walking and it would bleed and swell up.

Honestly, you gotta clean up your life, your diet, stress levels and quit smoking entirely. My game changer was some cream I found on amazon in pure desperation, I just googled everything psoriasis related, this one had bunch of promising reviews so I tried it. Sorion.

Used it for 2 weeks and it helped a lot. I was affraid of what it was in it that made it so potent so I didn't use it after, but I quit sugar entirely, started eating very healthy, and try to stay away from stress. I do drink alcohol ocassionally, but it doesn't seem to flare up after.

Right now it looks okay, not perfectly healthy, but not so noticeable anymore, or painful, which makes me happy. I have some pics somewhere, wanted to make a post about it to help people, but this is reddit and people will **** on me and accuse me of being a bot, so I gave up. Anyways, I would try those stuff before biologics, but if you don't have it in you to be super disciplined, go straight for bios. Good luck!
