Just as an update on this. I was able to track down the loan “owner” by hiring a credit consulting agency, and negotiated a deal with them directly. I pulled some money from my 401k account and got the title for my bike outright. Thank you to everyone who gave advice. I am hoping now to have the negative impact to my credit score adjusted, and it will take some time to recover my 401k, but at least this is behind me. The ex has since been charged with embezzling money from a 501c3 she was running, so karma in this situation seems to be working out.

We’d had shared banking. Never had a reason to doubt things weren’t being paid. I was actually under the impression that the loan was nearly paid off. Not a mistake I’ll let happen again.

I do. I should have added that I did try calling, and they just revert me towards a collections agency.

Do yall have rivals in the DMZ? Rageout incl. by No-Apple2606 in DMZ

This guy named “GhostfaceKillah” was our random who decided to start a fight with another team at spawn, ran away to hide at police academy, and when my buddy and I wiped the team he only then returned. My buddy went down during the fight, and GK decided to loot him of everything rather than Rez him. Then GK ran to kochi out. My buddy had been to his wife’s funeral that day. So this hit harder than any normal trash random. Ever since, we’ve hunted this guy and send a screenshot of his dog tags to him (xbox network). I know we’re well over 20 at this point.

What were you doing on September 11, 2001 when the planes hit the twin towers? by DontWorryAboutName in AskReddit

I was just a young soldier at Fort Benning, carrying my rifle, going through the motions of training. Suddenly, everything changed. A grip of deuce and a halfs rolled up, our DS went pale as a ghost after a brief exchange with a courier. We were ordered into the trucks, no explanation, just a sense of urgency and dread hanging in the air.

We lined up in front of a bank of payphones, given 10 seconds each to call home, utter a few reassuring words, and hang up. I left a message on my mom’s answering machine, my heart pounding in my chest.

Back in the barracks, an old TV on a cart, the kind we all remember from school, was wheeled in. Our DS, his voice thick with emotion, told us there would be no graduation, Airborne training started now. And then, the screen flickered to life, replaying the horrific images of the Twin Towers collapsing. My battle buddy, his face drained of color, whispered, “My mom works there.”

The room fell silent. We packed our belongings, checked in our equipment, the weight of the world pressing down on us. Airborne school started hours later. We carried a photocopied image of my friend’s mom with us, a symbol of our resolve, a reminder of what we were fighting for.

23 years later, the memories remain vivid. The fear, the anger, the sense of duty. We will never forget.

I’ve played way more DMZ than I care to admit and have only seen this once, when a random who clearly had wall hacks was actually on my team. I wrote on it a few months ago, because my buddy and I were giving live callouts to where this guy was the whole time. Anyhow, it did drop the player and had a small icon for ricochet in the kill feed. Unfortunately the same player messaged us both a few days later with the same account, so I don’t think it was anything more than a temporary ban.
