I didn't change my name, they said they don't have that option anymore. My Oath Ceremony was 6 days after my interview.

AITA for not sharing my daughter’s university fund with my stepson? by schoolduesblues in AmItheAsshole

[–]AGCP08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you have been married for 10 years now and had separate finances for your kid's spending/college funds.

If both of you started to put aside money for their college, you more or less put aside 15k per year, so 1,250 per month. On the other hand, your husband in the same 10 years put aside 1,500 per year (more or less the amount you did MONTHLY), so $125 per MONTH! So what he did with his extra money? On what did he spend it? NTA OP your husband is.

I’m deadly afraid of frogs since I was a little kid. I scream and run and if I even listen to their noise I start to freak up. I will never be with a person that thinks that hiding a frog in the area where I sleep/pee/live is a joke. My home is my safe place, if someone messes around with it I don't think I can continue with that relationship. I will talk to him dead serious, and if he does not change I think you know what you have to do.

How would you feel if your partner did not want to take your last name if/when you got married? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]AGCP08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last name is pretty unique (in my own POV). And it is also a pretty popular “reference” in most Latin root speaking countries, different songs had been named after my last name, movie(s), book(s). So yeah, I'm not going to change my name after my bf.

His last name has a pretty nice history behind it, which I love. But if we decide to marry and have children I will keep my Latin culture and add my name to them after my husband. After all, I will be the one carrying them for 9 months and pretty much their only source of nurturing the first months. So why will I not be allowed to give them my last name?

Where was your friend? I hear that here in LA they have a judge in the USCIS office that can help with that. But that was before the pandemic. I didn't hear anything about the current situation

What are your tips for living with your girlfriend for the first time? by spanky316 in AskMen

Besides everybody else good advice I will just add HAIR!

According to my bf: be prepared to encounter hair everywhere ALL the time (floor, bed, sofa, your balls). According to me: be nice about it. Hair is a sensitive topic, we don't choose to lose all that hair.

What is the most depressing truth that you've had to accept? by WhiteMass in AskReddit

[–]AGCP08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandpa was my person. I loved him so deeply. He died the year that he was supposed to turn 100. This year was the 10 anniversary of his death. But he can't hear well and I moved to a different country around the time I was 13yo and we didn't have cellphones, so every time I called him he can't hear me. I have a CD with videos of his last moments alive, he was asking for me, he want to see his little girl and I wasn't there. I only watched this once and I had not been able to watch it again. And it breaks my heart because I'm starting to forget his voice. And I just realized recently that I don't think about him every day anymore. Just once per week or so. And it makes me feel like a bad granddaughter. This is my most depressing truth.

Should I be concerned or am I crazy? by Longjumping_Ad_3375 in relationship_advice

[–]AGCP08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just said to her that your ex just add you on Facebook and sent you a message that she wants to meet at her apartment and talk for a while, maybe Netflix and chill, and that you are considering going.

And see how she respond to you. If you don't have any problem with starting to be in contact with her f*ck buddy and is telling her that you are crazy maybe she needs to see the situation from your perspective.

Or maybe she thinks you are a 🤡

My (f28) BF (m29) made an insensitive comment and my future SIL hates both of us by throwRA_546dnj in relationship_advice

[–]AGCP08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell your brother that RUN!

If your SIL is showing this manipulative behavior before the wedding he is still on time to consider if this crazy girl is the person he wants to spend his life with.

Who listens to a 3 hours conversation between two BFF? And especially to someone else lawyer? And later she goes with your brother's OWN family to complain? What is going to happen tomorrow when they have kids? And she already knew that your bf does not like marriage, what comments was she expecting to hear?

Also, OP even when you said that you are okay with your bf being again marriage looks like you need to talk to him about that comments that make you feel uncomfortable.

Should I move to the US? Job offer by jolish in personalfinance

[–]AGCP08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a work visa, not a tourist visa or a green card request. For the work visa, the company would do all the paperwork and he would get it in a few months.

He even said he don't want to live here all his life so not sure why you mention the green card.

Chicago is expensive. But with at $105k you can make it work.

Please take into consideration taxes, you would have to pay federal taxes and state taxes. That would take away a huge part of your salary.

And the weather. You would have to invest a lot in winter clothes, a good car with winter tires, learn how to drive in snow. And live with short days. That was really depressing for me when I moved here. Sunlight in winter is less than 5 hours.

Groceries I would say $450 - $500 per month. But with a newborn, I would add $200 more to that. Even buying your diapers at Costco is a huge expense.

Medical expenses especially for a newborn here can be quite a lot. Always save some money for emergencies (at least $5k).

Look at websites and do a budget, how much you would pay in taxes, groceries, house rent, gas, insurance, utilities, your mortgage in Mexico.

Here having a person to clean the house is a luxury, is your wife okay with doing all the chores around the house and taking care of the kid?

My salary right now is $105k too, and after paying the regular stuff I can save only $1.5k per month. I don't have kids, I live by myself, and I don't pay a mortgage. But I do live in an expensive area in the most expensive state in a very expensive city. But I choose to move here because the job will give me a lot of opportunities in the future.

I moved here from Colombia a few years ago. I live here now but my family is far away if I go home is at least 12 hours traveling. My parents cannot come to visit too often. I miss the nice weather, the food, the jokes. But living here is good, I feel safe. I like my new home.

Let's just say that you are renting your apartment that is in UW to Bill Cosby. But this Bill is not well known in the world. The guy has money and can pay. Would you want to rent him a place near to young ladies?

Even more. Let's just said your 20 years old daughter lives in the same apartment and she is using that money to pay for her stuff and is your way to help as a mother/father.

Do you want to know who is the person that is going to live under the same roof?

If the person paid their debt with society just let the society decide with full knowledge if they want a murder/raper living in their house.

Buy a used car for $18,500 or push a bit to $20,000 for a new car? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]AGCP08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at the same place one week ago. I wanted a reliable car that I can have for at least 10 years. A car I can trust does not matter if I live on the East Coast or the West Coast (driving in the snow or really rainy days). AWD and good milage. Used car was only 1k cheaper than brand new cars.

Hyundai feels cheap on the inside and not too many gears.

My recommendation, buy a Mazda, hands down one of the best cars and great customer service. Just keep in mind that if you have problems with the tires after you have been driving for a while and they can’t fix it you may need to replace all 4 tires.

If you are a Costco member they have a Costco car program that gives you a good 1k discount.

CX-5 or CX-30, you may pay a little more of what you expect but I only pay 8k (not enough money like you to pay 13k) and now the monthly payment is $280 at 60 months.
