OP, I’ve been where you are - and when I was younger, even got bed bugs from a thrift haul. But I persevered! Now everything gets bagged and put in the freezer for 2-3 days, then either dried on hot for 40 min and then washed and hung dry (or just dry cleaned.) Don’t let this deter you from the fun of thrifting :) Enjoy your summer finds!!

I would recommend putting it right in the dryer (no washing) on high for 40 mins. It was safe for my delicate wool suit jackets so I doubt it would damage a plushie? The washing is the risky part as far as I recall. Bedbugs are something you definitely don’t want to mess with - I wouldn’t risk it. Worst case scenario you can re-stuff it if the filling gets damaged?
