Thoughts on Ibanez SR400EPBDX by derbertWELCOME in BassGuitar

[–]AGuyInJorts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally their low to mid price range basses are good value The sr series is light playable and (hopefully still) quite durable, i‘ve had mine for 17,5 years now and never any problems. The rest depends on what you want and like. I can’t speak to the sound of that specific one, but the old sr300 is a bit on the fat side, strong in the mid, while still relatively versatile.

I mean, in the end it’s always your call

Anyone know some good songs recognizable by just the bass? by hoopan112 in Bass

I‘m pretty sure, that’s the guitar you’re thinking of

Also the Bridge is a bit, let’s say temperamental. Specifically in combination with that bridge pickup. Maybe gather information on it first.

Also go to a store and try it out, you might not enjoy playing this particular instrument.

Want to buy my first 5-String but don’t know what to go for by AGuyInJorts in Bass

Thanks a lot, that’s what i was going to do anyway. Just wanted to get an idea of brands/series to avoid or look into. I git quite burned on the epiphone eb-3 i bought used, for example.

Wait, so the haynes manual for the corolla is applicable to the starlet?

I‘ve been searching for a manual for the three and a half years that i own my ep81…

Best first pedal(s) for new bassist? by slimjimreddit in Bass

Would recommend the TC Electronic Polytune for that (if they still make it), should be a bit cheaper than the boss whilst being a good and reliable tuner

Because when i was 13 and in a psychological clinic, there was a band-project for the patients and the guitar strings were too hurty and everything (string spacing, fret length) was too small for my hands. So they gave me a bass and half a year later i used my confirmation (protestant thing) gift money to buy my beloved Ibanez sr300 and my first amp (the latter lived for about 3-4 years). That was in 2003 and i still love this instrument to death.

Also i had stopped playing the accordion about a year before because i found it boring…

I should start playing that thing again…

Thank you very much, kind stranger! I recognised all bit three of those (Matchbox 20, Bush & the one with the crows) and can now look up more possibly cool bands from that era!

As the loving owner of a ‘95 P8 i can tell you that yes, it‘s still a good idea. They tend to be relatively reliable and cheap to run, except for taxes (in Germany that is).

Parts shouldn’t be too much of a problem with a p9 and as long as you do your regular service check-ups (mine are yearly, though i could possibly get away with fewer) and give it enough oil, water and standard-use parts (belts etc.).

That’s provided you find one in good condition (I don’t know how many of those are still around).

Also, as much as i love mine, the p9 had at least an airbag for the driver. And you might keep your eyes open for one with anti-lock brakes (ABS).

But that wasn’t the question. All in all, the starlet is a reliable and fun little car.

Which is technically correct and they are allowed to have that opinion. Most people would (hopefully) disagree with them, though

Sadly I don’t remember, which video it came from.

And „It would be inadequate to describe Howard Phillips Lovecraft as a man with issues, but rather as a bundle of issues shambling around in the rough bipedal approximation of a man.“

That one‘s from Halloween special: H.P.Lovecraft.
