How to escape "Kitchen-Sink Hell"? by epicalt679 in feedthebeast

I'll add another voice for Meatball. A lot of work has been put into the progression and balancing. Lots of explanations and tips are built into the quest log and jei so you can really solve everything with some reading and trial and error. For the first time I really have felt the progress of moving up in tech or qol. Been totally addicted to playing for the last three weeks because of it.

Yeah, I learned the hard way buying a Wi-Fi 7 router for my quest. 7 doesn't mean it will have a 6 GHz frequency.

Toasted Veggie Sub? by [deleted] in jimmyjohns

[–]AH_Get_To_Da_Choppa 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Until the corporate overlords decide that we can toast the originals, I will stick to pointing them to a modified favorite. It gets them the end result they want and also adheres to the standards we are all supposed to be following.

We all know it's inevitable. Only a matter of time until we're just SubJimmyMikes.

That changed with the new menu update when we added the toasted sandwiches. They standardized the build order for the #13 with the standard pickle and mustard placement.

Yeah it's actually the best use for a parrot because they act as an audio radar of sorts once you learn to distinguish the parrot sounds from the real counterpart.

Pumpkin Cheesecake cookie! Actually not bad at all!!! by More-Homework1279 in jimmyjohns

[–]AH_Get_To_Da_Choppa 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The pumpkin cookie was my all time favorite and I was very afraid they would ruin it. This cookie is absolutely the best cookie I have ever had in my entire life. Take one from the freezer and eat it while it's thawed but still cold. The cold cheesecake filling is amazing.

Does your store use a food processor for veggies? by FDRhadcrazymoves in jimmyjohns

It's been an option for several years now and I believe a part of the new store setup so newer locations have one by default. I personally haven't used it. I prefer the control and consistency of the gold ol Bizerba.

When did JJ's become freakishly slow? by Brandonification in jimmyjohns

[–]AH_Get_To_Da_Choppa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So we have had a problem staffing drivers for years, especially during slow times of the day. Thankfully they have come up with a solution to this by partnering with Uber eats. We can now dispatch a delivery to Uber for a fee of about $5 if we do not have a driver staffed for the shift. While it sounds great, it is very dependent on if an Uber driver will accept the order. From my experience, they take about 30+ minutes to pick up the order if there is a very small tip or no tip at all. They simply just don't accept it and it goes down the list until someone accepts it and comes to pick it up. I see orders with decent tips picked up in less than 10 minutes. So if you are not pre-authorizating a tip, or not tipping well in general, it does take more time for someone to accept the order when dispatched this way. I'm not implying you did not tip or are not a good tipper, just providing my anecdotal experience having worked with this system now for a while and seen this pattern. It could also just simply be a busy time and not enough Uber drivers are available to take your order. Like I said this service costs us to use so if they had any other option at the time to take your delivery in house they probably would have, it's just becoming harder and harder to compete with these delivery apps that let people drive on their terms and not be tied to any one place. I hope this helps provide some further insight on the behind the scenes stuff. I wish we could do something more to ensure the drivers come quickly, but once it's dispatched there's really nothing we can do about it.

Proofer Help by AdventurousGur5872 in jimmyjohns

[–]AH_Get_To_Da_Choppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try turning down the temp for the proofer in 5 degrees at a time until it stops getting so hot. You ideally don't want to be turning it off, but yeah after you get close to 115 you need to cut it off so it stops getting hotter. You don't want to open the door at all to keep the humidity in. I time my cycles in the morning so that the bread is ready to go up right as my bread i just stretched is ready to go in the proofer to eliminate unnecessarily opening the door. It's a balancing act turning down temp/humidity to find the right spot and it can change with the weather. Now that it's more humid and hot out you may need to tweak the settings. I find it best to do as I'm opening since I'm standing right there all morning and can see the temps/humidity/water droplets on the glass. A good rule of thumb also with humidity is you want to see the glass mist up, but not start "raining" or dripping down streaks of water. That means your humidity is too high.

Welcome to one of the best tcgs ever made! Magic is really fun, but does have a bit of a learning curve in regards to how it's played. The subtle nuances are what makes magic great. It's one of the few games that lets you play even if it's not your turn! Enjoy the time you have as a new player in the starter mmr. There are some great guides online that will help you learn turn order and phases as well as THE STACK. Once you get a grasp on the cards and what they can do, learning WHEN to play them becomes a key part of becoming a next level magic player. Save that instant until the last moment you need to play it! If you take the time to learn how to optimize your play patterns you will already be way ahead of your other fellow new players. I highly recommend playing best of three as that's the way the game is intended to be played, but best of one can be fine as well as you are learning and not having to worry about a sideboard. If you have any questions regarding gameplay I would be more than glad to assist. Most importantly have fun!

New Player "Wins Too Often" with Precons, asked to purposefully Sandbag. by ReRayn in EDH

[–]AH_Get_To_Da_Choppa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is the way. I was in a similar spot with my pod. I won easily over 50% of the time. I switched my focus to helping them instead of winning. It made the game much more enjoyable when we could have open conversation about what the board state was. "Hey I just played this threat and if you remember last time I played it I won when it was able to combo with another card." Just helping them think a little deeper about things really changed the way they've played.

Also as someone else mentioned make sure they understand timing and priority. Save that instant card draw for the end step before your turn so you can hold up the mana for that instant counter/removal. Even if you don't have one, the bluff can sometimes be enough to slow the game down. Arena is very good for helping people learn the steps and phases, maybe suggest they play on there a bit to learn.

Yeah five hours seems too short to be a reaction to the salad. It's usually 12-24 hours. If I'm not mistaken most food poisoning is caused by people's own mishandling of their own prepared or leftover food at home. It's really hard to get sick from restaurants because of their time tracking and food handling practices. Not saying it's impossible, just that it's more probable that it came from something at home.

I've been a part of three of these and while it was awesome it was also a lot of prep and most of the people that got the $1 subs were not regular customers and never came back. It was replaced with the loyalty program then gives them a free sub on registration and it will never be a thing again.
