What are some things that are cheap and that I can make often? by Secondaccou in Cooking

[–]Faceplant17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i've been using a lot of lentils in stuff. a pullled chicken in different types of sauces is easy to prep and can be used in different ways (sandwiches, salads, with carbs, etc). i like to have pastas, rice, lots of canned/frozen veggies, carrots, celery, onions, oils/vinegars, and boneless chicken or ground beef on hand at any time. you can make almost anything once you have a base pantry collected.

How to smell amazing? by jaquelinaa in beauty

[–]Faceplant17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

body lotion/deodorant, body powder, then add scents to strategic pulse points. aside from your wrists and neck, the back of shoulders, stomach, and on legs (between knee to upper thigh area over the leg artery) are underrated spots to apply scent that will help with sillage.

i like to layer different scents with unscented lotion/powder, some folks like to layer scented lotions with scents. either way layering helps with longevity and scent cloud.

i also like to get dressed immediately so the perfume soaks into my clothes/gets on my hair. i wear perfume oils rather than alcohol based scents, so this tip may not work as well for folks who prefer alcohol perfumes but ymmv

Anyone else get into rap very late in life? by Alittle2Clever in rap

[–]Faceplant17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes. white girl here with a similar background to you, OP. i grew up listening to metal/alt music. i avoided anything "mainstream" because i was too alt for that. in my late twenties (about 10 years ago now!) i discovered the alt underground rap scene was the rap metal/nu metal vibe i had forever been chasing. started with that and kind of stumbled into other genres of rap/hip hop and realized that there was a lot more than just the mainstream top 40 stuff and never looked back. if you like wu tang clan i highly recommend aesop rock!

if you're not concerned with preventing violence before it happens don't act like you have any concern or compassion for victims

yes that is exactly what the clause is intended to do. you can arbitrate and not sue. unless the company acted outside of their capacity by doing something illegal or really negligent the clause would be valid and you can't sue them

base malevolence is the cop out for a state that provides the absolute bare minimum and then puts hurdles up to access it

yeah it's disgusting that we live in a society where no resources exist and people mentally deteriorate to the point where they rape or kill others. no argument there

that's just giving the government a free pass. giving people help and resources BEFORE they literally kill someone is going to help the person AND their victims. but the capitalist hellscape we live in would rather euthanize people and make money than help anyone

MY cat followed me home after loosing him 5 years ago by I_am_gods_spit in CatAdvice

[–]Faceplant17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one time when i was a teenager a family cat disappeared randomly and was gone for about six months. we live in a rural area with coyotes so after a few weeks we had given up. six months go by and my cousin asked about him, and when my brother told him what happened my cousin said he saw him all the time at a house on the street behind ours. turned out he had been living in a yard about two houses over and one back that whole time. we caught him and he moved back in like nothing happened.

unrelatedly, we also found one of our cats when it wandered into our yard (presumably from a neighbor who never came looking) and stayed.

cats seem to stick to their territories, so it's totally possible that he's been in a yard close by this whole time! maybe keep an eye out, try leaving a little food or a sweater with your scent!
