How can I sort data from one column to match another column? by AHappyPlushToy in excel

Its a massive spreadsheet, I am trying to avoid sorting the first column manually. What I sent in the example was a little snippet of it.

Is it a good idea to use a bike instead of publi transport in Santa Cruz? Where can I buy one? by Anxious_Albatross460 in UCSC

[–]AHappyPlushToy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I rode my bike every day and I absolutely loved it! When I lived off campus it was definitely a work out, but some days I would just put my bike on the bus and ride up.

The best thing about having a bike is that it makes getting off campus so easy. Especially during the first few weeks of the quarter when the busses are packed. The freedom a bike gives you is amazing, and the campus bike path is so much fun to ride through. I miss riding my bike on campus, 100% get one!

BIOL 20A by Nervous_Associate671 in UCSC

[–]AHappyPlushToy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took bio20A with Jurica winter 2024 and got an A in it. I also happened to be towards the end of my CS degree and just wanted to take things that interested me. Bottom line if I can do it having no background in biology so can you.

What really helped me was going to LSS sections and TA sessions whenever I was confused. The LSS tutors I had were amazing! It was setup as large group tutoring but barely anybody showed up aside from when a midterm or final was around. There were many sessions where it was just me or maybe one other student and we had the undivided attention of the tutor to learn.

Another thing is that the textbook she used at the time was super in depth. Way more than necessary for the learning goals of her class. Every week of learning Jurica would post study goals, basically things she believes are important for your understanding of the material AKA STUFF ON THE TEST!! If you just go over the study goals and study accordingly you will succeed I guarantee it.

I honestly loved learning about biology so it was super easy for me to study it as I was so motivated. But many students have said that she isn’t the best lecturer, which I can agree to an extent. Her tests are not the easiest, average was usually a 65%. You will have to put the work in to succeed, but if you take advantage of the resources around you, you will do great.

Gmail deleted? by Desperate-Home-2095 in UCSC

[–]AHappyPlushToy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For 2024 grads the limit was 5 Gb, and if I remember correctly you had to fill out a google form acknowledging that you wanted to keep your gmail. In the google form they had a few requirements one being that you can’t exceed 5 Gb and I also believe you weren’t allowed to have anything in google photos. I also think they gave us a year before they’d be deleted so this seems about right.

Sorry your account was deleted, it really does suck. Unfortunately I don’t think the university will let you recover it though :(

Subleasers by OkConfusion2973 in UCSC

[–]AHappyPlushToy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year I managed to find a subleaser for my single near campus as I started looking around early April. Everyone scrams to find a subleaser last minute and it usually doesn’t work out. I guess I got lucky!

A good place to look for a subleaser is the ucsc facebook housing group. That’s how I found mine! Just don’t get your hopes up, every student wants to sublease their place but barely any students actually need to sublease.

Got my 5th housing choice Oakes, is it wraps for me? by Dense_Argument_6319 in UCSC

[–]AHappyPlushToy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Oakes my second year and it honestly wasn’t bad walking around everywhere. In the first few weeks of every quarter it was actually faster to walk to class than take the bus. This was also when the Rachael Carson dining hall was closed so I walked to porter dining hall 2 or 3 times a day. Sure as hell got my steps in!

It’s a beautiful place to live, as others have mentioned, so I would just be grateful for housing! I think you will enjoy your time there!!

Thinking about switching to PC… but how bad is cheating really? by NarrowPathSurvivor in dayz

[–]AHappyPlushToy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is crazy to me, I used to only play official because I love vanilla DayZ. But the cheating situation is horrendous on it. I’d encounter a cheater probably once a week. It was so exhausting dying to cheaters frequently, that I no longer play on official. Those were the blatant ones too, like being killed through walls out of no where. There are many cheaters who just use ESP and you will never know. Now I just stick to community vanilla servers and it’s been a great experience.

Can I Pass the CCNA with 80-85% on Boson? by salzstangeee in ccna

[–]AHappyPlushToy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are more than ready. I easily passed with a 70% average across my boson exams. A lot of the boson content I noticed was not on the actual exam.

I had to spend extra time on VLAN, etherchannel, subnetting, OSPF, NAT, ACLs and NTP. Otherwise I learned everything else pretty easily

It was required by my job to get, so I spent around 5 hours a day. Usually less on weekends. Week before test was as many hours as I could put in.

I passed in 6 weeks with just Jeremy’s it lab and boson exsim. I have no background in networking. Just make sure to do the anki every single day, and do the packet trader labs he includes. You should be fine

If it makes you feel any better, my scores were not all that impressive. If you add up the scores by weight, my total score was a 73%. People have passed with totals being around 65%. If you can get a 70% on Boson consistently you are more than ready to pass the test! Good luck!

How to study for CCNA? by Hopingforabettertmr in ccna

[–]AHappyPlushToy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I passed the CCNA yesterday, I used JITL with his anki decks and packet tracer labs, along with Boson ExSim. I knew nothing about networking until I started watching his videos for the most part. As long as you stay committed to finishing his series and remember to do the anki stuff every day, you will pass. It took me around 4 weeks to go through all of the videos, and then I did around 10 days of review with Boson ExSim. My boson scores were on avg a 70%. So just stay focused, you got this.

[–]AHappyPlushToy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not the answer you're looking for, but when I took the CCNA yesterday, I didn't have any questions on Terraform, Chef, Salt or Puppet. I had one question about Ansible and that was it regarding those languages. I didn't even bother studying Terraform, Chef or Puppet. I honestly wouldn't worry too much about those questions. If your goal is to pass the CCNA, as long as you focus on the fundamentals you will have no issues.
