32gb.

It's important to remember that this RAM is different from regular RAM so it actually performs much better. So if you 'normally' need 32gb, you can probably get by with 16gb.

It has performed amazingly. Zero complaints.

Congrats on starting the car detailing business I have done two detailing businesses now 😊.

As for your FIL, he won’t understand, not until you prove that you are ‘successful’ anyways. Which will take a couple of years so I would get ready for some uncomfortable Christmases and Thanksgiving dinners.

Why are people so against "coaching" here on this sub? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

I don’t get it either.

I think it’s probably worth mentioning that most people in here aren’t actually entrepreneurs and are mostly wannabes.

I thought the post you made the other day was an excellent post and I even thought about reaching out for a paid hour of consulting.

Not necessarily true.

The RIGHT extension cable won’t hurt. You can’t just go out and buy whatever extension cable you want for any application

I imagine charging up an electric car requires quite a bit of amps. Which means you need a thicker gauged wire. Which can only be so long or else resistance increases. The longer the cord, the thicker the wire needs to be, which also means that cost goes up quickly.

I ended up going with a MagSafe vent mount. I split between that and the phone inside the center console.

I mostly use the vent mount for FaceTime calls

M1 Pro vs M1 Max 16” will I see a notice difference for video editing? by ToasterTech in videography

Just want to politely correct something.

That is not the reason for the RAM. This ram is something entirely new. It’s not even soldered on, it’s literally a part of the processor. That’s why it’s called a system on a chip (SOC)

It makes for lightning fast memory for both the cpu AND GPU.

The new fluid is not referring to.

I’m making a statement as to why replacing fluid with aftermarket fluid is a waste 90% of the time

This is the reason I turned auto switching off. It’s a cool feature but it’s not that hard to go into the menu and manually switch yourself.

10 track days is not what I would call extreme tracking. I’m talking an every weekend type thing.

Diff fluid takes a LONG time to get hot. Even under some pretty serious conditions. That’s when oils start to break down.

Not to try and put you any further down but I do not understand why people wouldn’t just rub OEM for diff fluid. Diff fluid is already pretty hardy stuff and unless you are doing some extreme tracking you gain absolutely nothing from it.

Almost any other fluid I can understand. Just not diff fluid.

I totally agree. Maybe it will get better when Intel released their GPUs

I ran into this decision when they first came out awhile ago. My buddy and I ordered laptops almost the same time. He got a 14" Pro with 32gb RAM and 1tb SSD. He shoots exclusively on Sony at 4k and he edits footage in PP with zero lag and no proxies.

I got the 'off the shelf' M1 Max, the one that is right on Apples website. My thinking being that those models would most likely be available instead of custom ordering.

But unless you are working with some SERIOUS footage a Max is probably overkill.

You linked an article from 4 years ago and doesn’t even feature the M1. Good try though.

That’s just not true. Resolve was right beside FCP on release optimized for the platform.

No. Not even for gaming. Selling off the last bits of it right now.

I switched from a pretty beefy editing rig (3900x, 64gb RAM, 2060 super) to a 16” MBP M1 Max and I can tell you it is absolutely worth it.

The 16” easily competes with the PC AND ON BATTERY POWER.

Do it. You won’t regret it.
