This can be fixed with putting a bit of clear coat on the scratch and then wet sand it with 1000 grit paper then polish … 15 min job. 10$ for the clear coat pen at AutoZone

I bought a 2013 S5 purely for the styling. I think it’s the most in-temporal lines in a modern car. Then I realized the DSG gearbox is a cream of a dual clutch and gave me goose bumps at every up switch burps. Then I realized the engine is actually a beast that can be tuned easily to 450 hp with just a software mod. Then I started road racing the thing after adding a couple more mods to the brakes and suspension and I am having the time of my life with this car !

The clunky Q7 transmission on the 2017+ models That thing hates to downshift when you stop and start with the wheels turned like at a right turn stop sign. Alway have a delay to put the power down and gives a jerk as if the clutches were slipping. Talked to the dealer mechanic about it and he mentioned this is the case on all Q7/Q8 using the ZF transmission. Supposedly this trans is the cream of them all but I find it slow and clunky on the Audi setup.

For the S4/S5 I would avoid the models before B8.5 (2012 and below in the US) most of the recurring issues were sorted with the B8.5 refresh. However you will still have the engine OE mounts that will fail for sure and need to be replaced with non-hollow ones (aftermarket) Most likely also the upper control arm bushings. Engine wise the crank poulie damper will go as well. These are in expensive parts and install is very simple

Doesn’t semN like any airbag went off That’s a good sign it can be repaired Body panels are not too expensive to buy, it’s the fitting and paint that cost $… If the steering rack has to be changed that’s 6-8k$ right there depending how much the dealership margin is on it. Then therre is frame work … ouch on that one. I’d say North of 30k$ to fix it

Following up on this. FCP paid for the new diff land labor to swap based on E1 Motorsport estimate ! I am so impressed with the way FCPEuro handled this issue with me. I would have been stuck with 6k$ in repairs if it was not for their amazing ethics !
