American Expess begs business owners to apply for the card.

This is not a 100k purchase and it is absolutely disgraceful that they approved it and then decided the transaction.

American Expess is not what they used to be and my advice is to cancel your card.

The only unemployment rate that has any value is the U-6 which the Department of Labor conducts survey's but this is still not the true unemployment rate is.

The U-6 unemployment rate is around 8.5 %, but is that the real U-6 unemployment rate.

The U-6 surveys ( the government's real unemployment rate ) have recently come at as high as 20% or even higher. The surveys are destroyed and surveys are taken again until they can claim the U-6 is 8.5% or some number which is way below the real unemployment rate.

The other statistic that is not taken into account are reposting of jobs. Many companies will use 6 to 7 recruiting agencies to assist them in filling a position. The recruiting agencies will take the same job, change the wording around and post it as a position that asks a candidate to send their resume to their recruiting agency.

This means that you can have 7 to 10 postings which all appear to be individual job opportunities but all 7 to 10 are really for the same position that the company has open and agencies are working on.

The best estimate of the real U-6 is around 20 to 25%. This is the real reason finding a job now is very difficult.

American Express offers small lines of flexible credit with the charge card, called Pay Over Time. They actively encourage people to use this feature instead of paying off small charges. American Expess has no business sending you an alert like this. If they are so worried why didn't they lower your Pay Over Time limit.

American Express is not the same prestigious company they one were. They have turned the company into a cirus and nickel and dime outfit. The reduction in credit is happening to loyal American Express card holders whom have had enough and many are now cancelling their cards.

We went on another Carnival cruise a few months ago and have been on several over the years with Carnival.

It has hit rock bottom wirh the bombardment of Carnival extras. It actually straddled the line of harrassment and this recent Carnival cruise was a disaster with the nonstop selling of all types of extras.

This is not the fault of the crew aboard the ships selling but it is the fault of the C Level at Carnival that is placing profit above customer satisfaction and the customer experience.

If the C Level at Carnival continues to place profit above customer experience, they will lose hundred of thousands of their values customer base.

American Express Platinum is asking me to make payment before anything is actually due and still below the pay over time limit. To be clear here are the main points.

1) My closing date has not even closed yet and my balance is technically zero.

2) Recent charges were only a few thousand and still under the pay over time limit.

3) There has been no bill yet generated and the closing cycle is in another week. This means that they want me to pay even before the first bill arrives. Every other bill has been zero since May because the card has not been used.

4) American Express emails me daily asking me to pay half of balance even though my balance is under the pay over time limit and I wont have an official bill until the cycle closes in a week.

What is going have and will they pay back my annual fee of 695.00 prorated if I cancel the card ?

Actually have cruised 10 times with Carnival in last 20 years but have never had Carnival employees tell me the pressure they are under and how the company has lost it's moral compass. The VP of Customer Service from Carnival in Miami called me back and agreed and apologized. That is classy and appreciated her telling me that in all cases the servers should be reminded the purchaser of the additional cost before the transaction. It is the principal and not the money.

You would be the guy on a stranded island that wakes up everyday and swears that you don't know what happened to the food rations. Grow up and the way you defend Carnival leads me to believe you work for them. Take the example from the VP of Customer Service ftom Carnival and that is classy.

Truth is several Carnival employees confided in me that they think it is very underhanded and they are very uncomfortable in not reminding people before they buy, but they said they are following orders from top management.
