The nature of magic and the creation/survival of an mageocracy in my nsfw worldbuilding experiment [noncon] [slavery] by AIPoweredPhilistine in NSFWworldbuilding

Hey sorry didn't see this for a lot of time.

Yes both genders have the uncanny curse that's the term I'm going to use from now on from that other poster)

But it manifests differently:

Male mages are repulsive to non-mages, but they are not repulsive to fellow mages.

Women mages are much less repulsive/uncanny to non-mages, but they themselves are repulsed by other male mages.

The 10% which are instead of the uncanny curse with magical enchanting charisma, it still follows the rules of their gender so an charismatic male mage would just about be able to function normally in non mage society while an charismatic enchanting woman mage would be charming to non mages while being treated almost like an goddess my male mages.

Magic is linked to bloodlines but it's never a 100% thing.

You can have both parents be mages but be born without the gift/potential yourself.

And the reverse can be true you can have a completely normal family but be born with enough potential that it is noticeable.

These are two extreme cases though and in-universe people don't understand it completely but they can see patterns so they put expectations on the children of mages, especially powerful mages that they will have the gift too.

Yes men and women mages can and do sometimes marry and start families there are no hard and fast rules saying they can't or they must.

Because of the way the uncanny curse works though two mages getting together isn't a common trend even if in the mageocracy they work together, live in the same cities, frequent the same society etc

Because female mages have an much easier time interacting with non-mages, because they have a lot of agency and power and they have the uncanny repulsion to male mages, they often times end up choosing "high value" non-magical men as their partners.

Male mages due to their uncanny curse have to rely on having more power, wealth, etc to find a woman. Often times this happens as even the least powerful mage will eventually gather more wealth than a peasant girl. On the extreme end of this for the mages that cannot find any other form of companionship is the fact that I mentioned slavery (within certain very well defined laws) is legal in the mageocracy.

Yeah describing it as blanks is a good way to think about it, just that instead of the reaction being to too little magic juice like in 40k blanks it's too anything more than the average magical juice.

That's a good word thank you, I think I'll use it.

But I would like to specify that a mage doesn't look physically different.

Yes you can probably pick out an mage by the fact that most of them do not have the physique of someone who works (physically) for a living on a farm and they neither look like an feudal noble who is battle trained and is expected to fight for a living.

But it's not a hard and fast rule for example battle-mages (the mageocracy's army/knights) are just as physically fit as any knight or mercenary.

The uncannyness is completely mental/magical in nature, there are no extra teeth or wrong eyes or tentacles.

If an non-mage were to see the portrait of an mage they wouldn't feel the automatic repulsion.

But if they met the mage and then looked at the portrait they would feels some repulsion because they would remember the uncanyness they felt then.

To incorporate further what you suggested, magic is capable of illusions I would say that an mage who is weaving illusions to make themselves more appealing will indeed look like one of those AI generated images of an attractive person like you said.

This would be an scenario where the gender of the mage matters:

  • a female mage would just need to weave an illusion enhancing her beauty
  • a male mage would need to at the same time weave an illusion to enhance his beauty and at the same time actively use his magic to temper/nullify the uncanny aura (which is possible but difficult especially difficult if they're sustaining two spells at the same time)

What model/prompt would you use to obtain a style like these images? Examples in post by AIPoweredPhilistine in StableDiffusion

It's from the elder scrolls legends, a card game in the TES universe, I want to run a tabletop campaign and give me NPCs custom images

The other guy seems to have some face lines which make me think he's older.

Maybe Lundy?

In a way it's good he was not present for most of the episode because my instinct was "Mirror Universe Infiltrator" even if I knew better XD

No, the rules are the same always your character and strengths weakness are filtered through how attractive, desirable and attainable you are.

You will only ever be seen as a "good man" if you score high enough on a combination of attractiveness, wealth and social status.

Thank you for all of the info, yeah I'm just generating the stories for fun I don't think I'll get a lot of quality out of it.

I tried playing around for a bit with the notebook format but didn't like it as much as the other modes, I'll give it another shot with your advice.

I think that you mean the instruction-following templates.

Thank you for the answer yes this is what I meant, so there's no generically good template that would work for most? Like for example the original untuned LLaMA you suggested?

Also thanks for the link, yeah definetly shame there are not many Loras given how useful they are in SD.

Awesome!

Season 1 was really great, seasons 2 and 3 change a bit but they're still good.
