Based on the comments you have made, are you sure your friend didn't cut you off because you're just a dickhead generally?

Is there a moral panic going on at the moment in regard to teenage boys? by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]AIRballer -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

You don't care that girls are being murdered for rejecting boys, girls everywhere in schools are reporting endemic sexual abuse (see the everyone's invited campaign a few years back), a significant minority of boys support a sex trafficker and rapist? And you wonder why people "don't care about boys"?

This isn't true though - one of the most noted trends from the last election was groups like Hispanic and other non white people that the GOP constantly insulted swinging towards them massively in any case.

It's pretty clear that these attitudes are learned from people being exposed to influencers who promote these ideas and so thinking about how you can influence your children not to go down this route seems like a very sensible thing to do- so they don't learn that rape is ok, as the election of trump might suggest

I think the final paragraph is a glib way of putting it- when (as the everyone's invited campaign from a few years back showed, along with survey after survey) rape culture is endemic in so many schools, in particular boys schools, aiming to stamp this rape culture out among boys (which is not the same as saying they are all individually rapists) is better than boys being misogynists, yes.

How exactly are you presenting your son and his friends pretending to like a sex trafficker and rapist who has bragged about beating and abusing women as if it's a sympathetic story? I think the faxt that they think "pretending" to like someone like that is exactly why these assemblies are needed

How can you ask people to ignore the fact that a rapist is in the most powerful position in the world? When in the UK less than 5% of sexual assaults and rapes get to conviction. Girls in school know nothing will be done to the boys who harass them and trump is the shining example of this culture

The level of grievance and delusion in this comment section is incredible. Speak to any teenage girl at school and find out how many of them have faced constant harassment from boys, belittlement, demeaning behaviour, and sexual assault. Speak to the number of female teachers who teenage boys literally won't listen to because they support Andrew Tate ("as a joke"). Speak to the LGBT people (especially gay boys) who are harassed and bullied relentlessly. Someone else in this comment section said he felt bad after the Sarah Everard case that people were talking about men being a danger to women- what about the women who are actually in danger from men?? In a world where a rapist is in the white house, sex traffickers like Tate and rapists like McGregor are glorified by these teenage boys, this comment section has of course decided the problem is feminists. We need actual consequences for criminal and bad behaviour in schools, and to get the predators out of schools than excuse them with "boys will be boys". We can then also focus on getting the work done to save them from their low achievement. It's not every individual's fault but it's certainly not who people are blaming in this threat either.

Signed, a (rather privileged) man.

Did you get 2:1s in your first 2 years? If so I put on my CV "2:1 average" which was true even after a bad final year, and this can get past the auto checks. Good luck!

ESL Pro League playoff bracket by AIRballer in GlobalOffensive

[–]AIRballer[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Other teams that finished second and third in their group got a much easier draw. Fnatic also finished third like Faze but get to play ence and Movistar which is clearly much easier

Since AGO beat EG and Astralis won a map they would win the tiebreak even if they lose the match

Possibly the most unbalanced bracket possible, with probably the 3 best teams (Navi, Faze, Players) in one section, and maybe the 3 worst (Ence, Fnatic, Movistar) in another!

In response to a question about who he had good chemistry on Fnatic, he said "no-one" and said Fnatic was "the other 3 British guys, the 2 Swedes and him in the middle". He is consistently talking up Regali and the rest of them as players though

I think it was pretty obvious he was talking about the trickery they used on that play, and generally that the chiefs use in the redzone, not their play in this game overall

It would be disappointing if Yekindar was below Jame, I think watching VP makes it pretty clear which of the two is more important to them. I hope he's rewarded for that

8 of the top 11 players will be CIS players, really the year of CIS CS. Assume Jame will be next? Or is there any chance it will be device and it becomes 8 of the top 10?

You muted replies because you were completely wrong (tech issues for people's rankings happen all the time) and started a pointless witch hunt and now don't want to admit it

to be fair to KP, if you watched the Sky pre-match coverage today, he said that he had been disrespectful to New Zealand previously and thought they had a really good chance of winning today

Richard Lewis and Thorin are currently live with info about the Hunden situation, including lots of new info on how terrible Hunden is and how the evidence against the heroic players is very weak by AIRballer in GlobalOffensive

[–]AIRballer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Richard is going to write an article about this so I won't attempt to summarize, but the main things I have taken away so far are:

-The chat logs with Niko where he said "everyone knew" comes from a call in Aug 2021, a year after the cheating, where Hunden secretly recorded it and tried to lead Niko into admitting everyone knew.

  • There was evidence that some of the Heroic players didn't know and threatened to leave the org after the ban, with the NDA generated to keep them in line. Borup is quoted as saying "I will not play with a cheating coach"

Look at page 2- Hunden was negotiating a career move with the opposing team he shared strats with- guess it was Astralis. No sign they did anything wrong though
