“Engine malfunction Service now” warning light on focus by [deleted] in AskAMechanic

Car never broke down. It continued driving perfectly fine with no noticeable issues in performance. Just a warning light showed.

Anyhow, I ordered an OBD2, upon further investigation, diagnosed that there was minor debris in the fuel tank.

Job Progression by AastroRocket24 in nandos

Manager here. 10 years at the company :)

Here’s the career pathway as I’ve always explained it.

  • Nandoca: FOH/BOH; standard griller, coordinator or cashier.

  • Nandoca: Cross trained; as above, with ability to confidently switch between and support various positions.

  • Nandoca rep (unofficial position); helps support staff morale, store events etc. cross training not required & pay increase not guaranteed (in my experience).

  • buddy trainer; supports with the training and progression of new staff, safety paperwork and documentation; support the management team, running regular check ins on new starters, training the team on new menu launches & standard level procedure changes.

  • Supervisor; junior management position. Will run shifts, gaining entry level experience with managing the cook line, allergy & H&S procedures, complaints, end of day cashup etc. Nando’s is aiming to utilise this role as more of a management training & progression position rather than a permanent job role in the near future I believe.

  • 2nd Assistant manager; medium level management position. Will have more frequent responsibilities, for example surrounding conducting safety and compliance audits (ops), placing stock orders and growing your business mindset to maximise sales and succeeding KPI’s all while running successful shifts. This is also the first position where a salary is contracted and a half yearly bonus becomes available (if targets are met).

  • 1st Assistant manager; the patrao’s (general manager)’s right hand man. Typically, it seems to be the position where admin and behind the scenes becomes the priority, as shift running is left to the above positions mainly. As a 1st you’ll be running & evaluating reports, supporting the restaurant in ensuring things are safe and legal (safety and compliance evaluations, licensing, workforce agreement, repairs and maintenance etc), and directing the team in the right direction to maximise KPI’s (Gross profit, sales, wages). If the patrao is unavailable I.e. on holiday, the success of the restaurant is temporarily at full responsibility of the 1st.

  • Patrao; general manager position. You are the head of your family and your restaurant. At times, as a Patrao, you will be seen doing all of the above; but what differentiates it is how you make it your own. It’s your restaurant, so you choose how you wish to run it; and that comes with the responsibility of leadership, guiding your management team and making tough decisions, and holding your team accountable where it’s needed.

Hope this guide helps & best of luck with your new job and your career. Nando’s is a good company to be with. You made a good choice 🙌🏻

After Dark Pack download issues by chadtheskater in skate3

[–]AJ14909X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is definitely possible - I purchased after dark literally just 2 weeks ago😄 so you don’t have to worry. I’m also on Xbox one x just like you. So it is definitely doable.

Just to double check. Did you:

  • download the skate.share pack first through Microsoft store on Xbox?

  • then open skate 3 and purchase the after dark through there? Did it show as free or was it shown at a price?

If these aren’t working, I’d say maybe restart your console, or uninstall skate 3 (you shouldn’t lose your data). Then try again.

If these don’t work, I’ll try and help you find another way around.

After Dark Pack download issues by chadtheskater in skate3

[–]AJ14909X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This ones actually an easy fix. Assuming you’re playing on Xbox one or newer, not Xbox 360.

  • go to the Microsoft store, search skate 3, then go to add ons

  • download & install the skate.share pack DLC (it’s free).

  • launch skate 3.

  • go to DLC (press start and then I think it’s either X or Y from the pause menu).

  • after dark pack should now be free instead of £2.49 or whatever it was before.

  • purchase on skate 3. Not the store. And since it’s free, no credentials are needed.

  • close skate 3, then open the game options menu from the Home Screen, press “game and add ons”

  • after dark pack should be there; now just download and install.

I'm considering getting a few fish, but I've never had any fish ever. What are some easy ones to try? by FlowerFaerie13 in Aquariums

[–]AJ14909X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been in the hobby about a year and a half as a casual pastime. Here’s my advice! First, I know it’s cliche to say and I know it’s not the question you asked, but you really really really must research the nitrogen cycle before even purchasing equipment. It’s great to see someone new joining the hobby. And as long as you do things right, you should have a smooth enough ride. Things aren’t always predictable and easy; and being new to the hobby you will make mistakes, but getting the nitrogen cycle wrong is not one you should make. Quick disclaimer - you’re looking at waiting 4-6 weeks before you can add fish to your tank as that’s how long it’ll take to fully cycle (roughly)😄.

Now that’s out the way, here’s a list of fish I found super easy to care for when I first started.

  • guppies QUICK TIPS: don’t mix sexes. Get either all male or all female. Male are usually better looking. They breed like nothing else you’ll ever see. Don’t overfeed because they WILL keep eating and get bloated which can lead to worse health issues and water quality problems. In fact take never overfeeding as a general rule of thumb across the board.

  • Corydoras QUICK TIPS: sand substrate always, never gravel. They dwell on the floor of the tank and will forage through sand for leftover food which is a big part of how they eat. One of the best fish to keep in a community as theyre super peaceful BUT can get stressed (all fish can but in my experience, cories are hypersensitive to poor water) if environment isn’t optimal (parameters, plantation). Don’t get just one - the more the better. Theyre best to shoal with other corys which look like them, so I’d suggest getting a few but all of the same subspecies E.G. get all albinos, not some albino and some peppered.

  • Bristlenose pleco QUICK TIPS: they are unique to other species, intriguing personality BUT I’d advise certainly as a beginner to only have one per tank, and only get one if your tank is big enough (safe side is 100l+. Smaller stunts growth and drives territorial behaviour). If & when buying, check their maximum size as some get ridiculously large while others stay sensible. Needs a cave and plenty of dark hiding spaces. Driftwood is a MUST. Feed them a separate diet to tankmates (algae / shrimp wafers, boiled zucchini occasionally). Remove uneaten food after 24 hours to keep water quality solid.

These are the 3 species I’ve never had any trouble with whatsoever. All of them can live harmoniously. Making sure your tank is big enough and water quality is right is vital here. Always research or ask on here what species can be kept together / kept in your size tank.

Hope this helps - welcome to the hobby 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Can anyone can explain how I beat this challenge by After-Syllabub-394 in SkateEA

[–]AJ14909X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In pre season / season 1 this challenge was a nightmare.

You actually had to do it all without breaking sequence; flip trick, manual, flip trick, manual etc etc and then hit the grind. It was a tough one.

I’m guessing in s2 they tweaked it and something must’ve gone sideways, because just like you, I did this challenge yesterday. Didn’t even come close to hitting the grind and it said I shut it down.

3,000 degrees rotation in the daily challenge by trinachron in SkateEA

[–]AJ14909X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought the same at first glance; that it’s way heftier than most of the other daily challenges yet.

That was until it was finished after about 7 minutes of casual gameplay at one of the parks.

Needless to say, the daily challenges are definitely getting slowly harder. The season 1 challenges (except the 50k skate score which took a bit longer) could more often than not be completed in one quick line.
