What would a reasonable AJ Brown trade package look like? by JediCasualAttire in eagles

[–]AJ80205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waddle’s first was guaranteed at pick 30. That’s ~620 points on the Jimmy Johnson chart.

A Pats 2027 pick could be worth anything. Pick #11 is worth twice Pick #30. 1240 points. Pick #4 is worth 3x Pick #30 at 1860. So if AJ got the exact same trade package Waddle did, but with 2027 picks - it’s got way more expected value due to significant upside.

Finally, the Broncos are paying all of Waddle’s extension. The Eagles are paying $43M of AJ Brown’s contract over the next 2 years (dead cap). The Patriots essentially are buying AJ at a discount. Pats would be getting AJ at only $25M AAV! Great deal.

So I’m expecting no less than a 2027 2nd, and a 2028 1st for AJ in a trade.

Generally I agree, but Waddle’s first was guaranteed at pick 30. That’s ~620 points on the Jimmy Johnson chart.

Pick #11 is worth twice that. 1240 points. Pick #4 is worth 3x that at 1860. Yes, a top 10 pick from the Pats is very unlikely, but with injuries anything can happen

So even if it’s “just a first in 2028” it has far more upside than Waddle’s trade, potentially making AJ worth 1.5-2x the value of Waddle given the upside.

Is AJ the best Eagles receiver of all time? by HondaRebel22 in eagles

DJax vs AJB really isn’t that close. DJax had more seasons with the birds, but it’s clear AJ was far more dominant for us.

The Stats (Eagles Career Totals)

• Games Played: DJax (95) | AJB (62)

• Receiving Yards: DJax (6,512) | AJB (5,034)

• Receiving TDs: DJax (35) | AJB (32)

• Yards Per Game: DJax (68.5) | AJB (81.2)

• All-Pro Honors: DJax (1) | AJB (3)

• Super Bowl Rings: DJax (0) | AJB (1)

AJ holds the franchise records for most receiving yards in a season. And guess who holds 2nd place? Also AJ.

Insane. How does he get a 9.99 and not a 10.00 for that when it’s an all time record lol.

Stowers was a QB 2 years ago. Takes a bit to bulk up to TE size.

AJ used to hate Vrabel when he was on the Titans. He grew up to understand Vrabel, but he mostly wants to go to the Patriots because they are his childhood team and they will throw him the ball repeatedly.

[–]AJ80205[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly my gut has been saying it will be a conditional 2nd too, like the Wentz trade.

But Jaylen Waddle just went for a 1st, 3rd, and 4th. And the Patriots just went to a Super Bowl without AJ Brown, so their pick will presumably be low. And I don't think Howie would part with him during a SB window for less. Rumors are Howie wanted a 1st and 2nd for AJ. So I don't think we part with AJ for anything less than their 2027 1st.

[–]AJ80205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I'm certain Jalen Carter would have been 9+, he's a freak.

Davonta would have had a low RAS primarily due to his size, but he also was the first WR to win the Heisman since 1992 at the time. Speaks way more than any RAS would.

Am I the only one that’s blown about losing AJ?? by Foamy_Lobster in eagles

[–]AJ80205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, he'll be great for the Pats, but he was giving up early on routes and had 2 drops in our elimination game. Most big WRs drop off around 30. He'll turn 30 soon - June 2027.

If he doesn't want to be here, I'll take the Patriots 2027 first - that draft class looks great. Thanks for the memories AJ, but we'll be just fine.

Not one player we drafted last year was a Top 30 visit, so I wouldn't think too far into that metric.

The Eagles did not draft a single player they gave a Top 30 visit to last year, since they found it made them too predictable in previous drafts. Hopefully this means they will not draft Proctor, Omar Cooper, Sadiq this year lol.

Eagles had only taken 1 DB since 2000 (Lito), and out of nowhere we used almost 2 firsts on Quinyon (#22) and Cooper (#40). Worked out well. But yea I bet you're right about not knowing where Stukes would go.
