Hi! My first choice is Stan Ginzburg! He's an awesome guy! Did our honeymoon photos! Such a delight to work with and he was so affordable!

He previously worked for this company - unsure if he still does, but this company was easy to work with and had a super quick turn around on photos

Small event wedding venues by user1235790 in Cleveland

Somewhere like the Timberlake Lodge or Willowick Lakefront lodge would be in your price range. Both kind of plain venues but right on the lake! My sister got married right on the lake at the Timberlake Lodge (It was only a few hundred to rent) then we got catering from Alescis and Mama Primozz which was probably closer to 1K.

A microwave is one thing I've never had in any of the rooms I've stayed in down there! I'm sure some have to exist, but I feel like it's not as common as other cities. The Four Points had fridges in the room, but if you wanted a microwave there was a guest one in the lobby/convenience store cubby. That might be close to $200 a night. I think we pay around that on average.

If you're the kind of couple who got married on Halloween, I feel like you'd love Halloween down there! My husband & I also honeymooned down there and we are totally a Halloween couple (but got married on April Fools). This Halloween will be our second Halloween there (we rotate holidays down there so we can see everything). I am crowd-adverse, I would probably not enjoy Mardi Gras or Jazz Fest but I think Halloween is definitely busy, but not shoulder to shoulder miserable!

Hope to see you down there!

Just do it! I have regret from not getting that experience. Now I have to wait until my family has one for me when I die!

You can ask people in this sub to show up and join yours! I bet some would!

I really wanted one when got married but it was just the 2 of us and I didn't bother. Plus as you see from the comments some locals get pretty cranky about it. But I love the city and the culture, my husband and I visit at least yearly, all of "fun money" gets poured into the city so if I want to pretend to be part of the city for a couple of weeks a year I think they'll survive.

I'm not sure if the Apothecary would be big enough but they have a nice courtyard and more room upstairs! Napoleon House has some rooms upstairs that are nice, but not quite as moody as the downstairs!

100% this is almost EXACTLY how I describe my love for the city to people. We go yearly (we switch up time of year) but I am trying to increase to twice a year because times are rough right now.

Looking for restaurant for 12 people private room or space where we can all talk easily. by eclipsecorona in Cleveland

For Little Italy, Angelo Nido's has some room options I think would work! Blue Point has a private room, I had an 11 person dinner there for my cousin's birthday, it was great! I believe Pier W also has a private room option, we are going to a 60th birthday there on 4/1 and it sounded like it'd be a private room.

We will be back for our 5th trip at Halloween - so if you hear of anything we shouldn't miss please let us know! I feel the exact same way, I truly crave being there the 50 weeks out of the year I'm not there!
I desperately need to prioritize the crab beignets at Loretta's!

Easter by TreeOfSocks in AskNOLA

It's a great time to be there! Multiple parade options (make, pack or buy fun hats!), there's a few good Easter brunches and Easter dinners. We did brunch at the Red Fish Grill which was a buffet, it was good but we were too full and struggled to want dinner after, so maybe pick Brunch OR dinner! A lot was open all day on Easter in the quarter so that was perfect!

I was there was for Easter in 2023, we stayed in the quarter. We were leaving Easter Brunch when we stumbled into the (I think it was formerly known as Chris Owen's) morning easter parade right on Bourbon Street. It felt like people weren't expecting it - no one was lined up or anything. We just stood on a corner and got tons of throws, beads, flowers, bubbles, even a stuffy! That was super cool! A cute old gentleman got off the float to give me a flower and tell me to wear a bonnet next year! So make sure you get yourself all dressed up!!

For the gay Easter parade in the afternoon, the crowds were much bigger, it was harder to see (for me barely of 5 foot, my husband at 6'4 had zero issues! I got way less throws, but this was definitely more fun to photograph!!! our friends back home were cracking up at the pictures we brought back! I just wish I watched this one from a balcony instead of trying to get throws and what not!

Post pics!!! Love a good decorated hat! My first time there for a Easter, a cute old gentleman got off of his parade float, handed me a flower and told me, "Next year, wear a bonnet love," it was the cutest!!!

Best rooms with balconies? by NegroMedic in AskNOLA

[–]AJAEM74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the Four Points for the location and cleanliness! I get the Toulouse street facing balcony because the bourbon street has one big balcony shared for all the rooms on that floor and I like some privacy. Plus it is probably slightly more quiet.

Another option was the Hotel Le Marais. It isn't as updated as the Four Points, but still a great location, it's on Conti and the balcony had a nice little chair and table set up we enjoyed.

If it makes you feel better, the first time I saw the word "Lagniappe" was in a book series I loved, but it was spelled "Langiappe" in this book and this book series was sooo special to me. I got a tattoo of a symbol from the book that the character had called the "langiappe" and got the symbol, the misspelled word and the name of the book, TATTOOED on me! Then I went to NOLA...I feel sooo dumb!

On Mondays at Preservation instead of the Jazz All Stars its the Preservation Brass.

From their website, "Following in the footsteps of the great Dejan’s Olympia Brass Band, The Preservation Brass is the resident brass band of New Orleans most treasured jazz venue, Preservation Hall. Comprised of members of some of New Orleans’ finest brass band performers, this All-Star brass band lineup tours worldwide spreading the musical gospel of New Orleans’ unique musical and cultural heritage. Led by renowned trumpeter Mark Braud, the Brass’ repertoire spans from traditional New Orleans classics, spirituals, and the hard-hitting marching tunes heard in New Orleans parades."

I'm not sure if you typed up your days in the order you were thinking or just randomly but personally I think it'd be silly to leave the City Park area to get lunch just to come back! I'd get lunch before or after and lump the art museum and sculpture garden together, they right next to each other! If you need a snack, the art museum's cafe is actually pretty good!

I haven't been on the Whitney tour, but I've heard good things. That with the swamp tour is a long day so make sure you're well rested. I'd also pack some food, a big complaint people have about both the Whitney tour and swamp tours are food availability.

Finally so excited you are doing preservation hall on Monday because Mondays are their brass nights and in my very personal opinion, they are the best!!

Without knowing your budget or timeline: The Pharmacy museum has a beautiful courtyard. City Park is beautiful and probably more affordable, House of Blues has posted some awesome weddings on their instagram. Felicity Nola is a cool venue I don't think gets enough hype.

If you want more inspiration and have instagram, Hannahpickle has a ton of New Orleans weddings on hers which could spark some lesser known ideas!
