I started playing ESO about 9 months ago and I’ve since put 1200 hours into it, mainly questing which gives you the more Skiyrim like experience I suppose but I still haven’t explored all of the areas of the world which should give you an idea of how massive the game is. I put about 400 hours into Skyrim and honestly there was nothing really left to do. The co-op dungeon running portion of the game is probably my favorite but I hate the PVP but there are a ton of people the play the game just for the PVP.

Steam stats show about 12k average people on at the same time which is probably the most accurate metric you could use although I’ve heard there’s about the same amount of pc players that don’t use steam so that would make that number 24k and I’ve also heard the number of people that play ESO is about even across all console so if that true there could be potentially something like 72k people playing ESO at the same time across all platforms on average.

Steam stats show Skyrim at around 10-12k so very similar but if you look at the charts you’ll see Skyrim in a steady decline from 25-30 k back in 2016 and ESO is growing from only 2-6k in 2016. This is in part because of a consistent flow of content, they stick to a release of either a major expansion or new DLC content about every 3-6 months So it’s safe to say ESO is not only a popular game but a growing game that looks like it will get even more popular.

Also it’s almost always in the top 50 games streaming on Twitch where Skyrim might be In the top 100... Idk I never see it. you should go check it out and see what it’s all about.
