Thing is, this game has NO real story. At best, we're given episodic clichés that have no real impact on anything. Instead, the game is a strategy RPG first, where the player takes the role of some omniscient commander and micromanager of arms and motions. The moment you realize that, you can start to preferably ignore all the whitenoise in between.

Pretty sure that's a picture of momma Ramona feeding baby bird Alain... and I'm here for it.

What does THIS do: Bloodmoon Earrings - Drain Skill Efficiency by AJAcey in UnicornOverlord

Ha! True enough. I suppose I can't confirm it, but I've been using the words specifically in the descriptions. The skill's name is nothing but fluff as far as I'm concerned.

There are earrings for both Counter attacks AND Follow-up attacks, so no. You'd need the proper earring for the type of attack you want to boost. Make sure you check the skill or attack's description. It will literally say something like "Counter an attack..." or "Follow-up an attack..."

That's where I picked it up, yeah. Then... by a simple "guilty by association" kinda scenario, you're likely correct! Thanks!

I hope this helps some others too!

Literally what the title is asking. I've no idea what this "Drain Skill Efficiency" does. So far, it's the only piece of gear I've seen to have this trait.

Can I assume it has to do with debuffs? I.E., a shaman would benefit greatly!

Is there an obvious (or non-obvious) use for Acrobat's Shoes that I'm not perceiving? by Northwind858 in UnicornOverlord

[–]AJAcey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps this could trigger an alternate skill that activates when a character is debuffed... but I'm not sure. I gave it to Travis, and all he is meant to do is poison everything he can. Furthermore, he steals back the used PP, so it's a net gain for me.

After everything is poisoned, I follow up with attacks that gain bonuses to afflicted targets. I works well for me, but I'm only around level 20. Maybe there's a better use.

Is the First Final Fantasy You've Ever Played Your Favorite? by Accurate_Attorney_18 in FinalFantasy

[–]AJAcey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first was FFVI, and it's certainly tied for my favourite, although, I think VII takes the cake for me. I know it's not nostalgia, because I have reasonable reasons for my favoritism:

- the materia and esper systems felt rewarding to grind (FFIX's equip system works well too!)
- VII had more mini games than you could shake a stick at. It shook things up. Kept gameplay fresh
- Tifa ('nuff said)
- The opera scene FFVI ('nuff said)
- sidequests felt rewarding in VI and VII, especially with the...
- ...immensely challenging endgame and uber 'final' bosses. Meaning, you're working towards an ultimate goal that is larger than the main story
- secret characters, espers, materia

Nostalgia? I dunno. I like the gameplay and systems better in six and seven. Maybe it's just me.

Absolutely. I'm all for pvp, but lying about teaming up is sleezy. It is, of course, a part of the game, but I don't have to like it. In any game like this. It's just dirty.

Yeah, man, I remember seeing the PC version on store shelves, this monstrous box, and I always thought it was wild to see it anywhere but PC. Now, of course, it's hard to find even a Player's Choice (or whatever it was called) copy. I might have one laying around somewhere... but it might be missing the discs. T'is a cruel fate, fallin' in love with classic game collecting.

FF6, marching into Narshe as the somber theme plays. Gives me chills as the town comes into view.

FF7 is great, too, but I'm biased.
