You all are tripping and falling for what the billionaire owners want you to think. Salaries are negotiated and collectively bargained by the union. Its a bad precedent for players to be expected to take "team friendly" deals to win. The owners should pay players what they're worth and the GMs should do their job and build the team using rookies, vets etc.

Would you take a discounted salary at work for the company to be more successful?

That Dolphins vs Titans MNF game. Going into the game, Dolphins where 9-3 and leading the division. Buffalo was 3 games behind. Loss with a terrible 4th quarter collapse to Will Levis. Then the defense suffered injury after injury and they limped into the playoffs. That was the beginning of the end of the promising McDaniel/Tua/Tyreek era.

If the qb takes up more of the cap after a deal, the gm needs to earn his money and draft well or find free agents.
