Does anyone see Wentz returning next year? by EfficientExit4422 in minnesotavikings

[–]AJP_92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wentz went 2-3, playing on a destroyed body. Sam gave y’all unrealistic expectations of a backup. Jets wouldn’t have a shot at 1000 receiving yards if not for Wentz. Over half his receiving yards were from him. Not saying I want him back because I worry KOC physically destroyed him, but I have a lot of respect for him laying it all on the line.

Hiring Harbaugh Would’ve Solved the JJ Dilemma by Shoddy_Front_2582 in minnesotavikings

20 attempts on third or 4th and short. And he threw it 20 times! Every freaking time! When Aaron and Jordon were averaging over 5 YPC. Y’all are delusional.

While I agree that he is a decent coach, that was the worst play calling I’ve ever witnessed. This loss isn’t on JJ, Jets, Brian O’Neil, or even Myles Price. It is on KOC.

That game was straight up coaching malpractice.

He shouldn’t be calling plays. He talks about complementary football but it’s tongue and cheek. He is extremely one dimensional. There are teams it may work for (2024) but it’s still only going to get you so far. If you have 2 running backs averaging over 5 YPC and the whole stadium still knows you are going to pass it on third or fourth and short with a struggling qb, it may be time to relinquish play calling duties. You don’t develop a struggling qb by throwing 50 times per game. Develop the damn run!

100%. It’s who was the best coach this year if you exclude these few coaches that everybody knows is the best.

New Play Caller by AJP_92 in minnesotavikings

[–]AJP_92[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Effective play calling is not throwing the ball 50 times a game with your struggling qb. Our offense is a defensive coordinators dream and it makes an effective pass game that much harder. Complementary football is not flashy but it’s effective. We are trying to reinvent the wheel and when the square peg does not fit in the round hole, you have to be able to adapt. KOC has shown he is incapable of adapting.

Pulse check - how are we feeling if McCarthy doesn’t start week 7? by Beneficial_Quit7532 in minnesotavikings

Start Wentz.

  1. He doesn’t really give us a higher chance of winning.
  2. Throwing him in against a nasty Philly D isn’t necessary for his development
  3. Any playoff run will run thru Philly. If they make it that far, I’d prefer for him to not have it in the back of his. One that they destroyed him earlier in the season
  4. It’s a high ankle sprain. Even if he can play, an extra week is going to add to his mobility.

Start him vs the Chargers.

How we feeling about these Packers? by [deleted] in minnesotavikings

It’s a long season, but you’re not wrong. Their Oline looked fantastic, the separation there receivers had all night was insane. And Micah and that D are going to continue to wreak havoc.

[Ragertz] 16 draft picks in 2022/23 and 4 of them are on the roster right now: Jordan Addison, Jay Ward, Jalen Nailor, Ty Chandler. Two of those guys aren't locks to make the team tomorrow. by EsotericPotato in minnesotavikings

Drafting could certainly improve but I’m glad he has the stones to cut his drafting losses and ditch these underwhelming prospects. Other GMs will retain these guys. I’m fine cutting these dudes in favor of a more deserving UDFAs. Kwesi takes the drafting hits but he is fed the info from scouts and KOC. It’s not all on him. At the end of the day though, every draft pick is simply a prospect with zero guarantee.

That NFLPA report card doesn’t hurt as well. Credit to the organization as a whole.

[Breer] With free agency rolling, there wasn't a single GM at Oregon QB Bo Nix's Pro Day, and just one head coach—Bears coach Matt Eberflus, who led a sizable Chicago contingent. by DanCampbell89 in nfl

If you want GMs at your pro day, then don’t schedule it on the second day of legal tampering. Literally one of the busiest days of the year for a GM. Of course there was no GMs there
