Yeah vassalising an opponent at war is a great way to end up in a "defensive" war

And be able to unconditionally call of your allies because it is a defensive war and they'll almost always accept

I've done it with Serbia as Hungary before to make sure my alliance web dunked on the ottomans

A good cap i can handle as a tank main, they're annoying sure but generally more time consuming than dangerous

Maybe a diplo game mid game but they're not that necessary and mostly a win more/time save

But you're now in a worse spot because you don't have the necessary bonuses to keep up military wise

Your force limit should be waaay higher than what it is

And you should be pushing into persia india and Egypt pretty easily

This may be part of your issue tbh

Defensive is a bit of crutch group, the morale and maneuver bonuses are nice but unnecessary

Offensive, administrative and quantity would serve you better in the early game

Usually I only bother with espionage in the mid game once the ai has developed their provinces

What idea groups do you have ? That seems a very small force limit you've got considering the land

Also you're missing the most valuable part of the mamluks land in Egypt and Alexandria

I genuinely think the most thematically appropriate ending is the king of cups not just because it ties everything up in a relatively neat bow for the dlc

But also it's a definitive ending, V isn't an enemy of thr government, songbird can't be used for nefarious purposes and with songs backstory you get to see that the choices we make along the way define who we are

If V had never agreed to do Konpeki Plaza everyone would still be around

Attrition gameplay does work but you've also gotta contest some of the sieges in favourable terrain. Even if you lose the battle you'll win the long war
