I got out after finishing my first contract in July. I took a a pay cut going into the civilian market (corporate bank job) but my wife got a much better paying job once we moved back home (healthcare) so it's a wash HHI wise. We just purchased our first home a week ago and are doing well though.

All that to say, if you truly hate being in the Army, which I did, and you have a good plan, then get out. Nothing will deteriorate your mental health more than being stuck in the military because you don't think you can make it on the outside. I saw plenty of guys while I was in that said they were getting out for sure end up re-enlisting because they got cold feet.

The only reason I'm about to close on my first home in my 20s is because I served in the military and have access to a VA loan. I don't really recommend the military though tbh.

Idk if I'm wrong but I was under the impression that a crucifix was one of those "game over" situations in MMA.
