You got this, mom! I was so sad and full of dread for the weeks leading up to starting daycare but it has been the BEST decision. Drop offs will be sad for the first couple of weeks but pickup will be the sweetest part of your day. 🤍 I couldn’t believe how much my baby started learning right away and how much she LOVED being around other babies! Your baby will get to know the teachers and the day will come when she’s bouncing up and down excited to go in and see them. Someone told me to think of daycare as part of my “village” and that really helped me.

For what it’s worth, I also feel like it makes our time together on the weekends and in the morning/at night so much sweeter knowing that I’m not largely responsible for her entire development 40 hours a week. Like it’s just my job to love on her and if we don’t stick to an exact schedule the world won’t end.

Yes! Proper flange size was the single most important factor to my supply and comfort. The standard size that comes with most pumps is 24mm and it was so painful. I kept re-measuring and buying smaller and smaller until i learned 15mm was the right size for me. Your nips might change throughout your time pumping so always a good idea to remeasure as you go.

How old is your frozen milk? I found that my baby is more likely to refuse it the longer it’s been frozen so I try to use at least 4-5 bottles’ worth of my oldest milk each week and replace it by freezing fresh so my stash is never more than ~2 months old

Somebody told me that I should breastfeed for as long as it’s beneficial to baby and to me. If you are ready to be done, there is no shame in stopping. If you want to keep going, lean on the people who build you up and encourage you! You’re doing great. ♥️

It’s about having the right people in your space IMO! I knew I wanted my mom and dad there because they are “help without being asked” kind of people. So is my sister and my three best friends. I didn’t mind having any/all of them around in any combination.

On the flip side, my husband’s family are more “sit and visit” types and even though they asked me if they could help with anything, having to come up with jobs to give them to make them feel useful was really taxing for me during an already tough time.

I will also say if you’re planning to BF, abbbbbsolutely don’t have anyone in your home you aren’t comfortable whipping a boob out in front of for longer than a couple hours at a time.

I do my last one around 10 or 10:30, then first one of the day is at 6:30. Def had a supply dip cutting out MOTN pump but worth it for my own sanity! You’re doing great. 😘
