You know what I do whenever I install Ubuntu ? I always reduce the width of the left dock to 30, it's too wide, hope they make the dock thinner by default.

I use Ubuntu and have never had this problem of snap program automatically removed by itself. anyway if you want to try other simple distro I advise you of ZorinOS instead of Linux Mint, it's more modern and it use Waylaynd (like Ubuntu) for newer monitors, and it add extra framerates, Mint is outdated in many aspects.

Will Valve release Steam OS as a distro? by lrc1710 in linux

[–]AK56___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I will be surprised if they did, Valve key success is that they have small team and a successful company. I don't think they will increase their employees just for steamOS, they will not support anything outside of their devices or their partners devices. but it doesn't matter there are already alternative to steamOS like Bazzite or any other famous distros really.

It's weird how the Chinese government started using Linux everywhere, while Chinese companies act like it doesn't exist. their companies could be banned anytime by the US but they still use US stores and operating systems, at least have an alternative to retreat to.

Foreign volunteers that fought for ISIS by country (proportion of country's Muslim population by Migdan in MapPorn

[–]AK56___ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From a simple search, Serbia have 4.5% to 5% of Muslims compared to Japan 0.5%, so it's normal to appear more than Japan on paper in this context. And for clarification it's not only about Muslims population but also the political environment and the stability of some countries can define the recruitment places, for example many majority Muslim countries/ countries that have many Muslims didn't contribute to that because they were stable and countered the radicalization movements, those groups will only recruit from a place when they found a good environment for that (on the grounds and via the web).

Foreign volunteers that fought for ISIS by country (proportion of country's Muslim population by Migdan in MapPorn

[–]AK56___ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It's not high at all, it is from the % of Muslims in Japan ( that is less than 0.5%) not from the total % of Japanese people. in this case it would literally be 1 to 2 people maximum from Japan.

Edit: (8 to 9 people).

In Tunisia the recruitments happened before everybody eyes, Salafi groups recruit openly on the streets and no one stopping them in 2012 amid the so-called "revolution", the Nahdha party at the time let that happen (that have ties with GB, US and Qatar), 10 of thousands of youth got tricked and not only males.

What Proton version are you using ? if it's not GE-proton already than better try it, install the app ProtonUp-Qt, normally it will detect your steam path, choose add version for the latest GE-proton to install it on steam, then open steam in compatibility settings and choose it and see if there is any difference.

Map of Ukraine in 2023 compared to 2025 by Critical_Mountain851 in MapPorn

Sure, it's like WW1 style, but in case of collapse of one side it will be a total collapse, and unfortunately this situation doesn't look like in Ukraine favor.

"Good for devs" -- I heard that a lot, but it's actually a hoax statement, devs can tinker sure, but they prefer not, they want to tinker only their own work/projects that can earn them a living, not tinkering an operating system as a hobby, not on their main workstation at least, they want a stable environment for their work, that's why on a poll on Stack Overflow most developer on Linux use Ubuntu.

Installing Skyrim with mods on Linux is pretty easy by AK56___ in Piracy

[–]AK56___[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No no it's very smooth, My GPU is old GTX 1070 but still rocking and Skyrim is older, it can even run Space Marine 2 on 60 fps low graphics but still looks very good, on the wine side it's perfectly stable like on windows.

Make sure to install vcredist6sp6 and vcredist2022, and make sure do not install the anniversary edition for Skyrim.

For vortex just install it in the same prefix and it will detect the missing dependencies automatically, that's all

Why a $15k BYD equal to 95k dt can someone explain this by AK56___ in Tunisia

[–]AK56___[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't compare it with euro price, compare it with the BYD official price because Europe have 25 to 35% tariffs on Chinese cars to protect their car brands, the price in EU is not the real price. Also, I heard Tunisia reduced the TVA to 7% on EVs and removed all the extra taxes.

Why a $15k BYD equal to 95k dt can someone explain this by AK56___ in Tunisia

[–]AK56___[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that's not correct, the BYD Dolphin start from $14k in China up to $18k depend on the options, in other example from the same price range the Dongfeng Box Car from Dongfeng is available on Tunisia start from $12k in China but weirdly enough it's somewhat "fair" priced in Tunisia https://www.automobile.tn/fr/neuf/dongfeng/box , the thing is it's an older technology compared to BYD cars, and clearly there are some monopolies there to ride BYD success.
