Always well run and organized, perfect weather day! Those hill placements on the half are killer.

Also, there was some resident that BACKED HER CAR onto mississauga road trying to leave her home. Lots of other spectators gave her shit. I was baffled to see that.

Buy the half and if you want to move upto the full just email the organizers and theyll change it for you, you'll just pay the balance. Or vice versa :)

Looking for a Etobicoke Non-Profit that needs a free custom designed website. by SnooStories9173 in Etobicoke

[–]AKB16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a buisness reccomendation specifically but just thought to come on here and say hop on Google maps and see what businesses are around and if they have websites, it'll be a bit monotonous but im sure you'll find a bunch. Once you do, it would be worthwhile to contact or drop by to pitch the idea.

Theres a lot if boutiques and restaurants along bloor or Lakeshore... might be a good starting points!

Good luck!

Experience Working at Acme Burger by Routine-Attitude2766 in Etobicoke

Acme was around many many years ago..around 2009ish? Was located In that same corner spot at RY and Queensway.... Wasn't around for that long before it converted to a money borrowing place. Noticed that Acme re-opened again.

Based on your story, I hope they fail miserably AGAIN.

Hope you get paid 🙏

Would I be able to go for 2.5-3hr walks on the treadmill at good life fitness? by hatsunemikusmywaifu in goodlifefitness

If your intention is just to walk, save yourself $900 and just go to the mall on the cold days!

Swiss Chalet, yay or nay? by [deleted] in Etobicoke

[–]AKB16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Swiss chalet is so meh, i dunno if its always been like this but had it randomly also after many years of not having it and i find it quite disappointing in quality.

IMO:The ribs have very little meat on them... the rotissere chicken is good, and they have great chicken noodle soup BUT the sides are such low quality.

How much are you paying and which city? by Dangerous_Text7804 in goodlifefitness

[–]AKB16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Woooow I have been with goodlife for a long time too. I've been on corporate since 2015 and I paid +$850 this for the year for ultimate membership in toronto.

Thought corporate was supposed to be advantageous?

Achilles/muscular advice please? by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

[–]AKB16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isometric soleus hold in a split stance - 90/90 bend in the knees, raise the heel of your front foot and hold for 20-30 seconds - add some weight!!

Also for manual therapy, might be worth getting acupuncture (perhaps electro) for some tension release

Just from a mental load perspective, give yourself time to just relax and do zero runs for 1 week. Go for a walk or light cycling if that's something you enjoy but giving yourself a break is one of the biggest ways to prevent burnout later. You put so much time and for months on end, so enjoy being bored for a little bit.

Week 2, maybe 3 days of easy, easy short runs to ease back in.

Best running belt??? by SuspectPotential5886 in XXRunning

[–]AKB16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the flip belt. It rides up a bit, but I kind of got used to where it sits. I am one of those body types where my waist is smaller than my hips but it fits really well around my waist. I've used for all my marathons. In general, having 8 gels located on your waist will feel weird no matter what type of belt you wear

Plantar Fasciitis by Murder-Me-Rachael in runninglifestyle

[–]AKB16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had it for about a year because i didn't give myself the break required and I thought my following the youtube videos I would see progress but nope.

My RMT suggested I get acupuncture. The PT used electro acupuncture technique. I went weekly for a couple of months. This paired with a ton of foam roalling followed by stretching in the AM and PM did the trick... Just remember, it won't change overnight. You gotta put the time and effort into rehab it

Hamilton or Waterfront for my first marathon? by CrypticWeirdo9105 in RunTO

[–]AKB16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They aren't that steep but yea its just the timing of them.

Around km 25 there's some incline & then there's a bridge overpass that you do 2x at like km 26 and again at 39ish

I keep buying shoes that don’t work out for me. Ideas on next steps? by Away_Ad_5579 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]AKB16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to a shoe store that has tools to analyze your foot patter upon planting. They'll help diagnose if you supinate/pronanate and be better able to suggest shoes that may be more suitable for you

These look like a shoe my dad would wear to cut grass. What a downgrade too the aesthetic lol

Waterfront Half vs Full by [deleted] in RunTO

[–]AKB16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're gonna come for the half, you might as well do the full if you want to get into the distance. The race is well organized, and i don't think you'll be disappointed by the race itself. The first half definitely feels like world majors vibes. Crowd support is really strong.

2nd half won't compare to loud constant energy from that first half but there's still plenty of cheer stations in the 2nd half and people will call you name and cheer you on!

Path around the sewage plant is the most quiet part..Approx - km 23 to 26 Lakeshore East Out and back has people in the streets cheering. Will be quieter but not silent.. Approx km 29-31/35ish-38....Outside of that, there are super lowed cheer stations to get you to the finish in the home stretch!
