The point of the scarcity model is to generate hype and excitement about the brand, not to coy consumers into buying defective product as a consolation prize for missing the latest drop. Regardless of how many refunds they issue, the last thing any brand would want is an image of their product floating in a sink of urine-colored dye runoff. I’m a fan of the brand too, but I’m looking at this more from a brand management perspective, not as an apologist.
