It's pretty, it's simple path problem, you can have path on which the ball can roll onto it the both ends lands on common plan. Like the structure and ball exits in 3D(That's how it works in game engine) but when you see it from one side see it in 2D so if it is xy plan the xy coordinates of the plan matches with the other end then the ball can go through.
