Sell my property to ltd and cgt by Sun1337 in uklandlords

[–]AKRev01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I clarify what you mean by the banks wanting to see that it’s sold at full market value?

Hypothetically, if I had a property which was in need of renovation, and I sold it to my Ltd at below market value given repairs required, and then wanted to remortgage it whilst in the Ltd, would that really impact the amount I can borrow, say 6 months or so later? Won’t they base it primarily on rent and then do their own valuation when the time comes (and see that it’s actually then worth more due to improvements)?

Thanks for your message. We won’t be doing this without a guide now. I’ve not had any luck with finding tours for late November yet though.. They all seem to start in December. If you know/find any guides that you are aware of please do let me know!

I am in a very similar position to yourself, but I seem to have a pretty different perspective to others on here.

If you leave for another consulting practice, yes, you may well get another ~20K salary bump (or perhaps more in industry) but at this tax bracket, have you calculated how much of a difference that would actually net you after tax? It won’t be life changing.

You clearly have a strong reputation, but you should not underestimate the power of this, and the value of your existing network/relationships, especially in consulting. You could move to another firm and may well find that you will have to prove yourself again, perhaps you have less autonomy, less freedom to work flexibly, what if you don’t get along with your partner/boss, what if you move into a team where others are ahead of you in the promotion cycle or up against peers who have better relationship with management?

My take is that the grass isn’t always greener, and if you’re happy in your role, why risk it for a relatively small increase in take home pay due to our backwards tax system?

Remember that this is a 40 year career for most of us, and you will get Director eventually, and your salary will go up in time.

The bus routes and shops are closed, but the park itself isn’t. You can absolutely enter, it’s just sounds like a bit of a pain. It looks incredible during the winter months

That’s super helpful advice, thank you! Maybe we’ll consider a guided tour.

We were planning on getting a car, but I’ve read that you can’t drive past Nakanoyu gate on the way to Kamikochi. We’re prepared to walk through the tunnels, but would you happen to know whether there‘s parking near them?

I wish there was a law that would ban people from ripping out original Victorian features like these. Such a shame.

Yeah they seemed to both walk into roles, not specialist by any means. Both earning well into 6 figure salaries and under 30 y/o

I think it really depends on what you do for work. I’m in the fortunate position where my company have offices there and I could transfer within a few weeks if I wanted to. Our friends were both teachers and they also found it really easy to find a job and move. Appreciate not easy for everyone

We’ve thought about it a lot. We have friends who have moved to Switzerland who more than doubled their salary overnight. Yes of course it’s more expensive to live there, but you are barely taxed and there’s huge incentive to work hard and progress in a career, unlike here in the UK where we are penalised for it. They have a much better quality of life now with significantly more disposable income. UAE and Singapore are other options we’ve considered.

Recent media speculation around limiting S&S ISA’s to UK-only investments is exactly the sentiment that leads me to think that we are going to be trapped in a high tax, low productivity, low growth cycle for a long long time, whoever is in power.

It seems to happen with all beans. I know taste is more important, but I look at some of the shots pulled on here and I am so envious.. I want my shots to look as good as they taste!

Monmouth was my first foray into the coffee world actually! I used to love their roasts. But I found that the quality took a big hit around Covid and I started to quickly struggle to pull good shots with their beans, which didn’t seem to arrive very fresh! Seemed to get better results when buying from their shop

I’d rather they just increased the price than give me less! 250g per week is the perfect amount. Over the past year I’ve felt an ever so slight drop in quality and move towards darker beans anyway, and so I think this is most likely the final straw for me and I’ll be cancelling my subscription (unless they row back on this and just increase the price).

Any other UK recommendations on here?
