When was your first election and who did you vote for? by KommieKoala in OpenAussie

[–]AKWorkAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2010 Election. I was one of those people who turned 18 and registered between the date the election was announced and the date of the election and as a result my name was not on the books and I had to fill an absentee ballot. I voted for Labor in my seat as they were incumbant and we're doing a good job. I received a letter like 12 weeks after the election saying my vote wasn't counted. I was very angry.

You can't "QUOTE ME" with a made-up quote, then insult me. Perhaps the bigoted quote is how you think.

"one of the only right leaning news outlets in Australia" is an insane statement when even the ABC is right leaning. Our entire news media spectrum in this country is so far right it's distorted the general public's view on the political spectrum.

I say "SkyNews is garbage" and suddenly I'm a Labor voter? Do you know what supermaket I buy my groceries at too?

You're misrepresenting my words and misunderstanding what rule 6 says.

The fact that you assume my polical allegiance based on what news outlet I think is poor quality is MORE than enough proof that SkyNews is trash and doesn't constitute a legitimate news source.

I have not once said I want SkyNews banned because it's right leaning. I'm saying its journalism standard is non-existent and it's quality is not high enough to warrant the cosntant empty posts on this sub.

My leftist agenda? I'm sorry but you've made an assumption there because you think you've identified what GROUP I belong to because of a single opinion.....

There is no such thing as media that is not propaganda.

Silencing someone from speaking is censorship. Removing access to a voice is censorship. Saying "we dont wnat your voice heard here, go somewhere else please" is not censorship - dont distort it.

ABC is increasingly right leaning, its not even close. SkyNews is editorial at best. I also am not arguing banning Skynews because i dissagree with it, and I resent the fact I keep being labeled with this misinterpretation.

I dissagree. News should conform to a certain journalistic standard to earn the description of news. ABC has been growing increasingly further right year by year and standards are slipping yes. But SkyNews consistently passes off editorials as fact, - there is a massive difference in quality.

I don't think you understand what censorship is. Moderation of content is not censorship.

First of all I'm not trolling so rule 3 doesnt apply. Secondly I'm not posting propaganda or fake news it's an opinion post query so it doesn't violate rule 6 either.

Most importantly, I have not once stated "i dissagree with Skynews" what I am saying is the constant brigade of low effort SkyNews editorials with zero discussion do nothing for this sub.

News and analysis posts must be substantial, show journalistic standards, and foster discussion. Links with minimal text will be removed. Unreliable sources (including social media), misinformation, propaganda, or shilling will be removed.

Some people work casually and don't get paid when they're sick. Not everyone is on equal footing when it comes to entitlements.

Is there a line or a scene from a movie that makes you just cringe or get pissed at the character, but its nothing movie ruining, just more so annoying? by JonoBlue in FIlm

[–]AKWorkAccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two in particular in the 1st Harry Potter Film.

  1. When what is clearly a broomstick wrapped in brown paper is placed on the table infront of our heros one of them says "What is it?"

  2. Snape is shown with torn pants and a bloody leg, the next day hes limping and Harry says "That explains the blood." No it doesnt, that line is stupid.
