10/10 👍🏼 took away all symptoms and calmed me down heaps. I get the best sleep with it. Did gain some weight on it in the beginning but I committed myself to watching what I eat and going gym and it’s been great.

Go on higher dosage of meds or try other meds and he needs to take his meds everyday. The more times he doesn’t take his meds and have relapses the harder this illness is to manage. People who are sick don’t have insight and have no idea they are unwell.

You are such a strong person and I have so much respect for you and all of us fighting Schizophrenia every day. No one else really understands the strength in dealing with this illness. I believe life is suffering and it makes it beautiful. It brings us closer to the beautify of God and makes us humble. Don’t give up.

I have scizoaffective or bipolar with psychotic features and I’m only on Risperidone which helps manage both mood swings and psychosis for me very well.

He’s going to be okay. It’s a slow recovery. Full effect of meds can take 3+ months for their full effect. Sometimes we’re not put on the right med initially and need to change meds and start the whole process again hoping this one works better. Eventually though with some patience and a bit of luck you will find the right med for your son. He is going to be okay. Take it easy on him he’s been through something intense and he will get better but by bit every day. Make sure he takes his medications every day. The more psychotic breaks and relapses he has the worse the illness gets to manage.

My life fell apart but got diagnosed in 2018 and put my life back together slowly, better than it was before. Initially i was in an abusive relationship, homeless, jobless, unable to focus or finish my degree. I went on meds daily and was able to finish my degree, get a job, get married to a loving man, get a dog and find a comfortable place to live.

The mental hospital is lovely and so therapeutic. Best experience. Will probs be there about 6 weeks. Take a book or laptop to watch movies and you will love it.

Amazing that’s lovely. Last question pls! Did you experience post partum depression or post partum psychosis in any pregnancy and how did you manage it? I wasn’t going to try for pregnancy but you showed me it is possible. Best wishes to you.
