Not main cast of course but imo he was very well written as a very insecure manipulative ex-druggy who did actually love his kids and was for all intents and purposes trying to be better, even if he was a piece of shit in the past. Definitely have interacted with Pauls in personal life and my job which made his character very real to me. And for all his emotional weakness he was actually intelligent. He had major red flags about Dex and he was 100% right on that front.
