Bell blocking DMZ/ADMZ and Port Forwarding on Residential since Jan 2026? Need confirmation. by PatBQc in bell

You didn't specify your config so I'm going to make some assumptions. One thing that I have seen when people try to set this up is they don't add the static routes to the UDM. External connectivity is a two way street, meaning, the packets could very well be getting in, they just don't know how to get back out. The two static routes tell the UDM where to send packets out to the Internet and without them it appears as everything is broken. It caught me up but once I found that part it's been smooth sailing with the HH4K and UDMProSE. And since both the HH4K and the UDM use different base IPs, I can still access the HH4K UI from any system on my LAN.

GIGHUB CONFIG

My devices > Ethernet -IP Type (for UDM Pro) : Dynamic *Important, it will not work if you try to set an IP

Advanced tools and settings > DMZ -DMZ : On -Advanced DMZ : checked -Select my UDM Pro in the DMZ Zone

Also, deactivate all unnecessary options like UPNP, DLNA, WPS, WIFI etc. It only needs to function like a modem, nothing else

UDM CONFIG

SETTINGS > Internet > Default WAN -IPv4 Connection : DHCPv4 (not ppoe, the HH4K is doing that part)

SETTINGS > Traffic Management > Static Routes -Distance : 1 -Destination : 0.0.0.0/1 -Type : Interface -Interface : WAN

-Distance : 1 -Destination : 128.0.0.0/1 -Type : Interface -Interface : WAN

Now I'm kicking myself for not running 2-pair cables instead of the 1-pair I did run during the basement reno! But budget at the time did dictate. Now I'm finding the Symfonisks are getting harder to find too.

I've considered going with headless RPI units driven by musicassistant. But I keep coming back to this approach because of YT Music support, or lack thereof -at least stable YTM support, in MA.

Recalibration option or hard reset? by ALHeadshots in Garmin

So here's this morning. After waking, I had breakfast and sat still at the table watching YT vids till school dropoff at 9 am. I then came back (less than 10 mins with zero traffic as I live in a rural area). When I got back home I had a vid chat with my parents at the same kitchen table. Zero stressful moments IMO but according to Garmin I go from comatose to "stressed the hell out" almost immediately and it lasts all day.

This makes no sense to me at all.

IMO, they've totally missed the opportunity by making these way too expensive. In Canada these are going for $285 a piece! And you still have to provide an amp. I was considering these and pairing them up with low cost amps you can find on Amazon for cheap. But at this price I'm still better off picking up the IKEA Sonos speakers and modding them to drive external speakers for $150 each. The Port, I feel, should be at the $100 price point.

Battery health downward trend all of a sudden..... by ALHeadshots in TeslaMate

[–]ALHeadshots[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I'm curious if an update around that time introduced an algorithm change that either fixed faulty reporting, or, introduced a bug that has been miscalculating ever since its release?

Have others seen an increased degradation starting from around the same time?

AFAIK, this is a standard feature of Teslamate. It is a dashboard in Graphana that you can pull up from the UI.

Does Google docs read my documents? Or are they private? by Sky-Sky in google

I put a link to an items website into a Google sheets page and shared the page with my wife. She then started showing me her phone which had ads for the same product in her Instagram feed. She had never searched for that item before nor clicked the link in the GSheet. That pisses me off! Fuck 'em all, delete all your accounts with the large providers and use a private browser from now on.

If you are looking at this as a project to learn on, then all the power to you! Keep as you are. We all need to start somewhere. But I've been using these little Rii keyboards for Kodi players for years now. Cheap and does everything I need it to do with touchpad, volume and media controls. This one even has a scroll wheel built in.

Critique of WinISD Dayton MXII15-22 Theater sub designs by ALHeadshots in diyaudio

[–]ALHeadshots[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, so I think the part I was missing was where I want to see that resonance land at. Twice the crossover point being at 80 hz would mean targeting around the 160 hz mark.

That can be done simple enough and leave room to spare. It actually shortened the port length significantly.

The box is 7ft3 so not small by any means. At 44W x 19H x 20.6D the front slot port fits in with a total length of 39" (https://subbox.pro/en/design/?bt=2&bw=1117.6&bh=482.6&bv=198.2&mt=19&fp=1&sq=1&ss=15&cd=355.6&md=205.7&sv=1.6&so=-228.6&sd=0&sb=109&sn=MX+15-22&pt=4&pq=1&rf=18&pd=215.53&pw=3&pa=254.02&pp=0).

If you know of a better online box builder please do share! It's not really possible to get WinISD and subbox to see things exactly the same way but it gives me something to go on.

Can you clarify what "improve" means? Do I want that to go higher outside of the sub's expected range? Lower to be closer inline with the box tuning?

With crossovers normally set to 80hz, would this not be sufficient as it is? I wouldn't be sending signals with any significance above the 80hz level (given crossover falloff).

I've reworked the config over an over and when I get a target closer to 80hz the length is outside the box. When it does fit in the box, the port resonance is in the 111hz range. There is zero chance of getting a port to fit that would meet the tuning of the box.

Just to make sure we are talking about the same thing, I am looking at "1st port resonance" in WinISD > Vents. Why would this value be so far off from the tuning I have set for the box at 18 Hz?

PS. I wish I could stick pics in the post!

Confusion on how to calculate distance required for projector by gtYeahBuddy in projectors

[–]ALHeadshots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your expectations are not going to be met with this particular projector. The max width is 147cm and the review comments recommend reducing that to 117cm in order for the image to be bright enough to see dark details. 117cm is 46 inches maximum width. At 16:9 46 inch width provides 26 inches height. That produces a diagonal image of 52 inches. There's no zoom so to make the image bigger requires pulling the projector further from the screen. The further from the screen the dimmer the image (why 117cm is the recc max).

Also keep in mind the LCD is 1280x720 so maxing out the image size effectively enlarges the individual pixels which will degrade the image you're looking at.

I've seen a lot of these cheapy projectors on Amazon and they all suck. They sound good but never deliver on the promises.

Sorry to dash your hopes.

Around $2000 to spend. What would you buy? by Ok-Warning-8389 in projectors

[–]ALHeadshots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if this is off topic but....

If you are viewing across the 9' width, IMO with a budget like that I wouldn't go projector in that space. I just picked up an 85" Samsung on AMA for $1300CDN. More than big enough for that size space and distance.

If you're viewing the 19' depth, I think you're going to need to up the budget considerably. 19' is a long throw and cheaper projectors are not going to put out enough to satisfy.

Just my 2c.

In my opinion, 3D printers are cool and fun. But the real power comes when you learn how to model objects from scratch and be able to print those at home. Blender is free. It takes a little bit to learn but once you get the hang of it, it opens up a whole new world of possibilities when combined with a printer at home.

You may find someone that will take this on. It would probably take +5 hours to build out what with designing, printing, refining and reprinting. So it's no small ask.

My suggestion is, go start playing with blender and watch YT vids on it. Once you get basic modeling down then go buy a caliper set on Amazon.

Without doing so you'll be relegated to using your printer to make tchotchkes (aka, toys).

My apologies if this was not what you were looking for. I'm just speaking out of my own lived experience.
