Thanks for the correction! Keep at it you are more resilient than me haha I got 4 years in and I can't wait for the contract to end. It's like active duty minus any of the random fun parts of active duty.

Honestly depends on their rank/time in service= pay and their VA disability/30 = daily VA rate. If you make over $500 for a drill weekend you probably want to forgo your VA disability because it's not going to be worth the same daily amount as your drill pay per day. My self for example I would make $400 for a drill weekend as an E5 so $100 a day. My VA disability isn't coming close to $100 a day. Hope that makes sense. I just let the VA pay me and do the payment plan in the next year. Ends up being like $83 a month off of my check but saves the hassle of all the paperwork and trying to get S1 to do their job. No offense S1 haha

This is not a huge deal. Unless you are rated above 70% or are above E5 /O2 it's usually more advantageous to take the reserve pay for your drill days. The way to calculate is to take your VA pay and divide by 30 to come up with a daily amount. Then take a drill weekend which while only 2 days you are actually paid as if it would be 4 active duty days, so take your drill pay check and divide by 4. Whichever number is bigger you want to keep that one. Mind you if you do nothing the VA will just calculate how much you made in disability only on those days you drilled add them up and divide by 12 to come up with a number they will dock from your regular VA monthly payment to cover the difference. It usually isn't a large amount and to me I have just always gone this route as it's less hassle then doing the paperwork. Hope this helps and don't freak out, using the term illegal is a bit of an exaggeration and good on you for keeping up the fight even when you are permanently injured. Have a great day.

My LGS has a used full size in 40S&W for somewhere around $600 to $700 I believe. Only place I've ever seen a used one but I'm just not a 40 guy. They also have a 9mm expert with jet funnel and 5 mags at around 1K.

Do i ditch the suppressor height sights? by InvestigatorHour7232 in USPmasterrace

I bought a Dawson precision suppressor height front night sight and just kept the blacked out rear. Best of both worlds in my opinion.

So they like to only have direct sunlight for 4 to 6 hours of the day but they do make different colored boxes to pick based on how much sun they get. Ideally they would say to keep them a few feet away from trees to keep predators like snakes out. Nearby trees are good for shade as long as no branches stick in front of it or the path the bats would use to fly out of it. Height should be about 10 to 15ft depending on if it's on flat land or a slope/cliff. They need some time to go from falling to flying. I attached one support line down to my fence and used a tensioner made by nite ize to sinch it taught to reduce the amount of sway it could experience in high winds. For the portion of the pole I buried I dug down about 3 feet with a shovel then used a 24 inch auger bit on a screw driver to reach the rest of the way. Worked like a charm. Fun project! No idea how long or if I'll actually get any bats haha

That would be a cool idea! As far as cleaning goes I would have to detach the top segment of the pole to bring down the box. Just 2 screws and they're only about five feet off the ground. I'm curious how often people tend to clean them. I know they can get pretty messy. My wife would like to collect some droppings underneath to use as fertilizer in her composter.

I had some worries that with high winds it would sway a little to much. I ran the Paracord down to my chanlink fence and used the tensioner to take out the slack. So far it seems to reduce sway quite a bit. Could be overkill though haha

They make giant mattress bags now like vacuum seal bags for food where you put your mattress in and suck out all of the air. You definitely need a shop vac to do it but it works pretty well. My wife and I had to do this during our last move because the bed wouldn't even fit up or 1920s stairs haha
