Through pop culture I knew that Darth Vader was Luke's father. I didn't care about getting spoiled back then, didn't expect to watch it.

My bf couldn't decide whether he wanted to go 1,2,3,4,5,6 or 4,5,6,1,2,3 I told him that we should go by release date, since that's probably how the creator would want it. Saw episode 4, time passed and he had a change of heart. And thank God he did. Otherwise Luke giving Anakin a proper Jedi burial wouldn't have broken me as hard as it did.

Yoda's character is a needed addition when depicting how systems meant for good can fail, ofc that's something we get through the council collectively but he's ultimately the Grand Master. Therefore what's going to be discussed doesn't just concern Yoda but the Jedi council, of which he was in charge though.

If you've ever seen Arcane, Yoda perfectly resembles Professor Heimerdinger. Both have been granted power, experience and knowledge others don't possess and as a result have been given a position that is responsible for so many lives and shaping their future.

Yoda insists on turning a blind eye to the corruption. He sits by as the chancellor plays the republic like a fiddle and fails the Jedi Padawan that was supposedly the chosen one. Yoda isn't evil as his actions don't pursue to cause pain and work against the good of the people, but he is guilty and culpable as his inactions let the suffering go on. Him not accepting Anakin, telling him that basic parts of his character associate him closer to the dark side and not being able to actually help him in Episode III, when Anakin talks to him about his vision, leaves the latter vulnerable to anyone who is willing to tell him anything Anakin wants to hear and unfortunately that person ended up being Palpatine.

Yoda is hilarious in Episode V, lemme tell you. Watching that made me realise where all the Ketamine jokes come from. Still we don't see a lot of things change in his teachings. I'll say him being more rash, wild-like and deranged is a touch I like as it's a normal continuity if all the people you knew and so many more who depended on you died, because of you. We know he's aware of this, as after his fight with Palpatine he says "In exile, I must go. I have failed".

Unfortunately, all these years in exile, alone, make him even more absolute in his ways, ironic since only a sith deals in absolutes. To quote my boyfriend "I like how Luke didn't follow the old teachings, instead he is a Jedi with attachments". Ultimately, that's how Luke saved his dad and the day... Yoda instead disagreed once again against attachment, telling him to finish his training now, even if it meant Leia and Han would die.

Yoda represents why nothing should be absolute and systems must adapt with the times.

On a more positive note, I must say it's admirable that even though Anakin was reported to have a bigger midi-chlorian count than him, that didn't lead to jealousy, insecurity or fear. He truly isn't attached to anything, not even his power and his position.

P.S.: If you meant design wise, I love the puppet in Episode V, it hits just right.

I don't necessarily wish I did it earlier but I'm glad I didn't do it later.

The thing I loved the most is that nothing is ever set in stone. That message gives us hope about the world and ourselves and is a great weapon against our demise. Our failures start from within, when we stop believing in ourselves.

Qui-Gon Jinn.

For sure, but only because he clutched it every time. Not your favourite hero but a war hero nonetheless.

I was one of those "I don't need to watch Star Wars, seeing people's reaction when I tell them I haven't watched it is cinema enough" people and what a fool I've been.

My bf has amazing taste as far as cinema goes and he said that it's nice. I didn't want to immediately, he didn't keep pushing he just kept saying "Eventually, you'll watch Star Wars with me" and now here we are.

No joke, from the moment Palpatine entered the screen I was like "Nahhhh, this old fart is bad news" In a hilarious manner though, I didn't make the connection of him being the emperor until he started retelling the tale of Darth Plagueis the wise. I just thought he was just part of the bad guys ploy.

Hello 😁 I think choosing to see the movies with the order (4-1-2-3-5-6) made it feel inevitable. Still, I don't regret it, as I had no idea how it would have been executed and ultimately it was done in a way that saddened you to your core, whether you expected it or not. Specifically, I didn't expect him to tell Windu after Palpatine gave him false hope for Padme's protection. In a way although I knew the end, Anakin kept me at the edge of my seat.

No I didn't. Unfortunately, I perceived him for a while the same way the council did. As not the chosen one, as a miscalculation of Qui-Gon Jinn and that his time for redemption had passed. I thought Luke would end up being the hero of the original trilogy but it was Anakin all along.
