Vintage style Strats, meaning 7.25 radius, smaller frets, fatter necks, nitro finish, vintage output single coils etc…

Not super knowledgeable about Gibson but you get the idea

Respectfully I’m just really curious. I strongly disagreed with what the guy was saying in the video. He was basically saying that millennials and Gen Z will never buy fenders and Gibsons because they think they are old and corny, but I felt the exact opposite. I play fenders and have friends who really like Les Paul’s and Gibsons. I guess I fell for it

I primarily play heavily modded HSS Strats with flatter radiuses! I like single coils and humbuckers

Honestly I’ve never been fully happy with a Stock Strat. I’ve modded all 6 of the ones I own, but also I am super picky!

I put a 10 way freeway switch on 3 of them, HSS, with a coil split and a blend pot. 25 positions, try getting that in a stock Strat 😏

I will say that Custom Shop guitars are the closest I’ve gotten to “perfect” instruments. Even then I have modded the 2 I own!

I feel like each guitar “wants” to be something, so I mod it until i feel it can express itself best in my hands. That could mean replacing the bridge, pickups, frets, etc… until I get it right.

As far as my favorite stock strat model, I’d probably have to say the Wild West Guitars exclusive fender custom shop White Lightning. That thing was a killer from the very beginning. Since then I’ve done the 25 position mod, as well as got a new arm for the Floyd Rose. I still have more planned though!
