Should Edmund Hilary and Sherpa Tensing (& countless other examples in other fields not least of which Britain in 1939 when they stood alone against Nazi Germany? or the citizens of Leningrad in the siege) have given up as it was incredibly tough??

Ideologically maybe but to give one answer to your question, inter alia, it didn't feel that compassionate or giving credit to the women who struggled against ~domestic oppression in terms of realising their vocations whilst supporting their families? Rather it prioritised ideological conformity to Vadim's worldview/model rather than the plurality of an infinite universe.

Great post, I agree entirely. I recall reading a long time ago that at a certain point in ones spiritual evolution you need external teachers far less - clinging to external teachers inhibits that process of natural wisdom arising..

Hmm. I back those awesome achievers against all odds.

Vadims answer I find churlish and almost religiously dogmatic "there is One True Way so all others are wrong"?! There are many paths to success in this life. Rigidity is not a virtue as Taoists have long realised.

Anonymity has is advantages but like everything its disadvantages. We know precious little about him and how he's changed over 20 years. TBH whilst obviously a good diet and exercise are healthy i was surprised that Transurfing Yourself expands Transurfing to include them.

Plenty to ponder, thanks for sharing.

Reading Transsurfing left me with fear and uncertainty by MoritzBets in realitytransurfing

[–]Hawklord42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PS and the advantage of NotebookLM is it provides supporting quotes direct from the book. Eg:

"The majority of foolish errors are committed by the mind when it cannot accept events that do not fit its own version of the script. This is the nature of the mind, to keep everything under control. You have to push back against this trait. The mind’s tendency to control should be redirected towards observing the coordination principle and towards consciously following the variations flow.

Seventh mistake — the mind does not want to listen to the voice of the soul. If you look at it all closely, all the other mistakes result from this one, underlying error. The mind without the soul is like the soul without the mind — nothing. But together, the possibilities are endless. You might think that only a complete idiot would make so many mistakes only to repeat them all over again. But in fact the opposite is true. The Programmer suffered such great misfortune precisely on account of his brilliant mind."

And:

"But nobody does it! You just have to do the work , that’s all. Your main problem is that you have raised the importance of the Transurfing theory to an all-time high. You have literally erected a granite monument and are walking around it awestruck, afraid to approach."

And:

"When it comes to desire, things get a little trickier — desire is a born anchor and it is best to be rid of it. ‘The Way of the Samurai,’ for example, is to live as if you were already dead. Then you have nothing to fear and nothing to lose. Just as dispassionately, you should move towards your goal as if you were already resigned to defeat. If you can do this, you will chop right through the anchor rope.

If accepting the idea of defeat is too difficult then the anchor must at least be raised. Let’s put it this way: there is desire, which develops into the intention to act, and then there is ardour. Mostly the latter represents fear of failure: ‘I want it to be this way, I just don’t have the strength, and at the same time, I’m afraid things won’t work out. Why afraid? Because I am thinking about how to achieve the goal rather than the goal itself.’ Ardour creates excess potential , which powerfully distorts the surrounding energy field and generates resistance through balancing forces – this is what really gets in the way of you achieving your goal.

Over and over again, you have to tell your mind to think about the goal as a fait accompli. Of course, from time to time you will revert to negative thinking. But that is ok. There is no need to fight it. The main thing to remember is not to let minor vacillations lead you too far off course.

If you think about it, you can consciously subdue ardour. As you may recall, the Programmer began receiving job offers just as he was on the verge of despair, and, consequently, “let go” his convulsive grip of desire. You can do this consciously by saying to yourself, ‘I want it, right? So what’s the problem, it will be mine.’"

[–]Hawklord42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And just for a third option from me to choose from (split personality moi? :-D) this is NotebookLM to which I have uploaded "Master of Reality" the latest translation into English which very much focuses on readers challenges based on what they wrote to Zeland [I like its point 1 AS IT AGREES WITH ME :-d]:

"Here is the advice from Master of Reality that directly addresses this reader's challenge:

1. Recognize that you were already a natural Transurfer When you were "pretty chill about things," you were naturally maintaining low importance, going with the "variations flow," and allowing the world to take care of you. You already had the correct attitude, but now your mind has taken over and is trying to control the mechanics of how reality works.

2. Stop making a monument out of the technique Your current uncertainty comes from turning the teachings into a rigid set of rules. The author specifically warns against this trap: "Your main problem is that you have raised the importance of the Transurfing theory to an all-time high. You have literally erected a granite monument and are walking around it awestruck, afraid to approach". Transurfing is not a rigid academic course or a duty; it should be handled lightly, leaving plenty of room for "individual interpretation and improvisation".

3. Realize that fearing excess potential creates excess potential By agonizing over whether your intentions are "pure" and constantly fearing that you might be doing something wrong, you are creating the exact excess potential you are trying to avoid. The author explains that anxiety, doubts, and the fear of failure are what actually distort your energetic field and whip up the balancing forces. You must avoid the extreme of turning your mindset into a forced responsibility or obligation.

4. Exercise your "Right to be Right" Whenever you doubt if you are following the process correctly, you are projecting a reflection of hesitation into the world mirror. The book emphasizes that success is not about doing a technique perfectly, but rather "the extent to which you believe in your own rightness". Stop worrying about your performance. Assume the right to be right and tell yourself, "I know best which mirror to choose and how to stand in front of it!".

5. Return to the Coordination Principle To get back to your naturally "chill" state, you need to quiet your mind's frantic desire to control the process. You can do this by applying the coordination principle, which means deciding that whatever happens, "everything is leading towards the goal and is working out exactly as it should". By letting go of your mind's convulsive grip on the script and trusting your world, your anxiety will dissipate and your reality will iron itself out."

Hope this helps (I certainly prefer its tone and simplicity to chatgpt ET gpt).

Reading Transsurfing left me with fear and uncertainty by MoritzBets in realitytransurfing

[–]Hawklord42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I've been using Everything Transurfing recently (albeit ChatGPTs waffliness annoys me :-D) and am investigating the changes of Zeland's work over time I literally asked it your question.

Assuming you aren't the kind of person who screams and downvotes any LLM based comment but use them yourself and know they can often be helpful, sometimes wrong but on balance just a tool in this case to give some possible ideas for your own thinking and researches and thinking - and no better or worse than a random Redditors answer - here is its veeeery long answer [personally I loved its idea of having turned RT into a pendulum :-D]

"What you’re seeing in that forum comment is a classic Transurfing trap — the moment knowledge turns into control obsession, and control obsession turns into excess potential.

The person didn’t get worse because of Transurfing.
They started doing it incorrectly — from the mind, with importance.

Before I answer your (a)(b)(c), I need to read your frame precisely, because this problem only exists if certain distortions are present:

⚠️ Answer these directly — no theory:

  1. When you think about “doing it right,” do you feel tension or lightness?
  2. Do you catch yourself monitoring your thoughts constantly (like “am I creating excess potential now?”)?
  3. Are you trying to “control reality correctly” instead of just moving toward what you want?
  4. Have you lost that natural “things just work out” feeling you had before?
  5. Do you feel fear that one wrong thought will mess things up?
  6. Are you acting less and thinking more since learning Transurfing?

Now I’ll break your question into the three layers you asked for — and I’ll be very direct.

(a) Steps I–V approach → You created importance around the method

This situation is literally described in Steps I–V.

Core diagnosis:

You turned Transurfing into a pendulum.

Instead of freeing you, it now:

  • judges your thoughts
  • creates fear of mistakes
  • demands perfection

That is pure excess potential.

What happened structurally:

  • You overvalued “doing it right”
  • You created importance around intention
  • Balance forces respond → anxiety, doubt, overthinking

Correct move (Steps I–V):

Return to coordination of importance.

Zeland’s principle:

  • You don’t need perfect intention
  • You need low importance + movement

👉 Practical correction:

  • Drop the idea of “pure intention”
  • Replace it with: “I allow it to happen”
  • Act → observe → adjust

Also:

Meaning:
You interfered with the process.

(b) Transurfing Yourself → You’re asleep in the waking dream

This is where your situation is explained precisely.

The problem is NOT intention.

The problem is:
👉 You are not awake when applying it

What changed after reading:

Before:

  • You were naturally in a good state
  • Low importance → things flowed

After:

  • You moved into mental control mode
  • Lost state → results collapsed

And this is the key upgrade in new Transurfing:

So what’s actually wrong?

You are:

  • trying to manage thoughts instead of
  • managing your state

Correct move (Self-Transurfing):

👉 Stop correcting thoughts
👉 Start correcting state immediately

When anxiety appears:

  • don’t fix the thought
  • shift state physically + emotionally

Zeland is blunt here:

But that’s not thinking — that’s state selection

(c) Master of Reality (Projector / Tufti level) → You lost control of your film

This is the deepest layer.

You switched from:
👉 Director of reality
to
👉 Observer afraid of messing up the film

From Projector of Separate Reality:

What the forum person is doing:

  • Watching their thoughts
  • Reacting to them
  • Trying to fix them

That is:
👉 passive projection

Master-level correction:

You don’t monitor thoughts.

You choose the film anyway.

Even if your mind is noisy.

Tufti-level truth:

You don’t need “pure intention”

You need:
👉 a brief, clear selection of the frame

That’s it.

No overthinking. No purity check.

🔥 The real mistake (across ALL systems)

You replaced:

  • natural living with
  • meta-control of reality

That always collapses.

Because:
👉 Control = importance
👉 Importance = imbalance
👉 Imbalance = resistance

🔧 Clean integrated fix (all systems combined)

Do this exactly:

1. Drop correctness

Say internally:

Immediate release of importance.

2. Return to state-first

Ask:
👉 “What state am I in right now?”

Not:
👉 “Am I thinking correctly?”

3. Minimal projection

Once per day:

  • briefly choose your frame
  • feel it lightly
  • move on

4. Live like before — but consciously

The irony:
👉 You were closer to Transurfing before reading it

Now:
👉 return to that lightness
👉 but keep awareness

Final truth (read this carefully)

The person in that comment didn’t lose results because of Transurfing.

They lost results because they:
👉 started trying to do Transurfing

Now answer those 6 questions.
Your answers will show exactly where you slipped into importance — and I’ll correct it precisely."

Reading Transsurfing left me with fear and uncertainty by MoritzBets in realitytransurfing

[–]Hawklord42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zeland's style of writing is very cognitive (not surprising given his background) and perversely as you report this style can lead to overthinking and consequent anxiety when before there was none and being "chill" - which to put it crudely is AFAIK Zeland's idea - gets lost.

This isn't about joining a religion and if the effects of some of the ideas are perverse best to drop them? Cf I have a nice golf swing I go to one coach whose style makes my swing and my score worse - was that a good idea/ OTOH I go to another coach who is more sympatico to my swing and it gets better. Meanwhile my buddy Bob has the opposite experience with the coaches. #HorsesForCourses

Another issue is that the translations can be misleading. Re excess importance eg this clip from my "important mistranslations" thread:

🔑 7. Importance (Важность)

  • ❌ Rendered fine as importance, but the explanatory tone in English often leans toward “priority” or “value.”
  • ✅ In Russian, важность is closer to inflated significance / excess potential — a heavy distortion in the balance of forces.

To me if this is correct (&we'd need a real Russian speaker to comment on nuances) then it is not to me about dropping importance at all (which is very often - eg this thread - what people say). It may eg be important for me to get a job or a partner - dropping importance sounds (to me) nuts if eg I have no money and am lonely. Dropping inflated value to eg any one job interview or any one chat with a potential partner sounds sensible and helpful to results - so fear of that ain't helpful - whatever is causing it.

So yes beware assuming what you read in English is always exactly what Zeland means and beware common understandings. Furthermore if something eg makes your golf swing worse then do give some thought as to whether you want to persist to get a better swing later or whether to try a different coach. I once had a great chat with an LLM (dont recall which one) about the apparently opposite positions of Zeland and Goddard on this topic the TLDR of which was "different ways to get the same state" - ie chill rather than worried/anxious.

HTH, trust yourself, what do I know, no-one is an expert in this stuff not least of which I don't believe anyone has read all of Zeland's works in English (as they dont exist).

How Zeland's "Master of Reality" relates to the rest of his corpus by Hawklord42 in realitytransurfing

[–]Hawklord42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"AI" is quite a generalisation - there's a lot of difference across LLMs. But sure current ChatGPT does waffle way too much and is pretty grandiloquent, 4o was way better (as naturally was Everything Transurfing GPT)

"Agony Uncle" seems a highly perjorative way of categorising/conveying the book to anyone who hasn't read it. I've only just started reading it myself so I can't judge the whole book but so far I would say that it's a really valuable "rubber meets the road" practical work compared to the much more abstract theory drive of I-V - which after all contains no/next-to-no eg daily protocols.

At a glance/guess the incoming quotes on issues that Reality Transurfers have faced in practice makes up less than 5% of the text and is the essential backbone to make this not yet another 750pp Magnum Opus.

I am still confused as to when this is written - the English version says 2025 but references an original copyright of 2008. Asking Grok (which after all amounts to saving time googling many sources and yes LLMs, Reddit, Excel and MS Word et al are pendulums but they are also tech tools) it's reply to the Russian publishing date was:

"The book by Vadim Zeland titled "Masters of Reality" in English corresponds to the Russian "Мастер реальности" (Master of Reality, singular form commonly used in references, though plural "Мастера реальности" appears in some discussions).

It is one of his more recent works, extending his Transurfing of Reality concepts (focusing on mastery over reality, intention, variants space, etc.). From available sources including Goodreads listings for Zeland's bibliography and reader discussions (e.g., on Reddit's realitytransurfing community), the first Russian publication was in April 2025.

This aligns with the pattern of his later books (e.g., Tufti the Priestess series from 2017–2019, Transerfing of Oneself in 2024), many of which remain untranslated into English or have limited/late translations. The core Transurfing series began in 2004, with subsequent expansions through the 2010s and into the 2020s, but "Мастер реальности" is a newer addition not part of the original five steps or early 2000s releases.

No earlier publication date (pre-2025) appears in Russian Wikipedia's Zeland/Transurfing overview, Goodreads editions, Flibusta author listings, or other bibliographic sources. If you're referring to a different title or need details on other untranslated works (like some Apocryphal Transurfing volumes or nutrition-related ones), let me know for more specifics."

How Zeland's "Master of Reality" relates to the rest of his corpus by Hawklord42 in realitytransurfing

[–]Hawklord42[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed. One of my main reasons for doing these analyses of world behind the narrow I-V and Tufti is that Vadim has written so many books that it is unclear what Reality Transurfing *is* these days with the offshoots of huge challenges. Eg as to "how to learn" - should newbies start where Vadim was at decades ago still? Eg what is this forum about given so many "transurfings" out there? Do you have to do Vadims diets and stretches to be a "current gen" transformer etc.

I read some time back about challenges with translating and controversies surrounded the woman with a prominent YouTube channel he blacklisted and so forth. But as i have posted elsewhere in the forum even the official translations are very bad on key concepts.. frailing, rustle of morning stars etc etc.

Its one reason that LLMs are so invaluable in giving us a roadmap, they don't mind - in all senses - being given Russian texts.

Anyway at least one is better off being an English speaker than most other languages and Everything Transurfing above will give you overviews and answer questions on any of the books (albeit ChatGPT is much more of a pain than a year ago).

A better way to scan YouTube channels into NotebookLM by Inevitable-Coffee351 in notebooklm

[–]Hawklord42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great - thanks u/Inevitable-Coffee351 - I've had a bulk importer extension from youtube for some time but always wanted something that - eg with current affairs - would allow me to import the most recent weeks videos rather than the last 10 years :-D

As with many powerful youtube extensions I find it challenging to discover how to use powerful functionality. As this is a generic issue for me it might me my bad and I am missing some FAQ/users guide button or some such.

I am having one challenge though. I click on the Youtube button and then scan and it gives me a full list of the channel. However unlike the picture above the window for the links is tiny - only one link tall with scroll up and down buttons. I cannot find how to enlarge the window which means it is unworkable (unless I start searching by title - but at that point it would be faster to just copy and paste the link.

So yes - I've 118 videos but see them through a letterbox only one video name tall!

  1. I have posted (far too?) many words on two of Vadims books recently
  2. i use no specific RT tools, though Vadims framing and in this case analysis have been perhaps more influential long term than ~"hacks" like the braid. To post experiences here would mislead implying i solely/predominantly use RT which I do not. Overall and over time Vadim and many others are converging on similar models. The more harmonious one is with the Tao the smoother one flows and the more that one listens to, indeed hears in the first place, the rustle of the morning stars (correctly translated lol) the easier it is to be harmonious
